Two weeks to flatten curve.
Remember that? It was several months ago now.
The deal elected officials struck with the American people was to trade lockdowns for hospital capacity. The fear in the early days of the COVID pandemic was that hospital capacity would be overwhelmed if we didnt lock down, curb activity, and so forth. So we got two weeks to flatten the curve.
New York City built a hospital into its Javits Convention Center. President Trump sent a Navy hospital ship to handle the expected caseload.
None of that capacity was needed. Way back in June, CNN declared that New York had flattened the curve. The Javits no longer has a hospital, and the Navy ship went away. We flattened the curve. To hear the media discuss it, despite New York (city and state) being the site of thousands of COVID deaths, theyre the example the rest of the nation should follow.
Well, Mayor Bill de Blasio has altered the deal.
He tweeted:
"We've made great progress on COVID-19, but we're not done until we hit zero. Heres a look at the numbers:
332 new reported cases
61 patients admitted to hospitals
Citywide positive tests are at 1.93%
Practice social distancing, wear face coverings and avoid large crowds."
The likelihood that we ever get to zero cases is, well, zero. Coronavirus is a virus. Once virii hit human populations, they tend to come and go seasonally. Despite all the promising news weve heard about vaccines lately, vaccines dont mean the virus cases zero out anytime soon if ever.

Even this won’t stop Cesspool Dwellers from voting Democrat.
Ha
If anyone here would know it, it would be you
Kyle Trask, yeah
Mayor De Blasio Tweets He Will Keep New York Under COVID-Unism Forever; “We’re not done until we hit zero citizens still alive in NYC!”
He’s a Communist, he wants to destroy private business.
This. And it goes for Californians too!
There seems to be an overwhelming apathy among NYC voters. Only about 21% of eligible voters showed up to vote in BOTH mayoral elections resulting in DumblASSio being in office in the first place. They might complain, but either they're just waiting out this loser (just wait and see what worse commie traitor is lurking in the wings!) or they have moved out of state.
Ahoy, Mate!
“In their pursuit of utopia liberals always leave a path of destruction in their wake.” Noted “wake;Starboard!

Rats(Dems/Libs)deserting the sinking Ships. It is a maxim among sailors that before the vessel is to be lost the Rats will desert her. ... This metaphor seems to have started with rats deserting the sinking ship, and toward the middle of the 19th century added the variants of abandoning or fleeing the vessel.

We already unofficially have two governments. Soon we will have two presidents.
_______________
You may have hit upon something. In terms of foreign policy, we’ve got Obama covertly acting like he’s still the president. His henchmen in the various departments are doing whatever they can to thwart President Trump. Hillary and Pelosi are saying Biden must not concede the next election. I can see where they would not be beyond just declaring that Biden is the president. Period.
I just dont understand that if ONLY 21% voted this ASSHAT in why in the HELL arent the business owners and the other 79% recalling this complete and utter Marxist commie!! These business owners cant afford to wait till this IDIOT leaves office!! The THRIVING city will be nothing but a shell if they wait to get rid of him!! You have ALL theaters, Broadway, restaurants, bars, tourism is devastated!,,
NOW you're getting it.
I would like to see him in prison for all his crimes.
Actually I was mostly talking about Kalifornians. Living in Arizona 35 miles from the Kalif. Border we get to watch the flood of Kalif refugees. Our city is experiencing everything I mentioned earlier about them bringing congestion crime and Inflated property costs to a once pleasant and relatively crime free town and turning it into an LA suburb. Whether they are conservative or not ... which most are not ... they are pushing out the locals. They are like locust.. they destroy the place where they came from and then destroy where they go.
For decades I have called us Californian’s a cancer that should be legally restricted from leaving the state.
Dont get me wrong ... a lot of Californians are wonderful people. That being said ... they are not well received in many places. They truly need to stay where they are at and fix the problems that they are also responsible for. They will say ... I didn’t vote for Newscum or mad max or Pelousy. Well ... so ... did you help the campaign against them ... did you go door to door passing out flyers ...did you contribute money and time against them ? Did you run against them ... attend rallies ? Most of them have to say NO. So yes they ARE partially responsible for the downfall of their state. Then they expect their new state to welcome them with open arms.
what does bankruptcy mean anyway?
The answer is, per your point, show up! However, not just the voters, but the GOP. They saw us going downhill starting in the 80s, and what did the GOP do? Nothing. In many districts they dont even to bother to show up with a candidate, and when they do they dont do d*ck to support them. No knocking on doors, no big rallies, no radio or tv campaigns, other than a measly 2x3 sign with a name on it here and there, really nothing. You cant win if you dont show up, GOP! I cant tell you how pissed I get when I look at my ballot and only see a singe Democrat running on a ticket for a local or state office. It happens year after year. It also doesnt help when the GOP do next to nothing for outreach to the voters. They just sit on their hands begging for more money that wont get spent trying to field new candidates to course correct our disaster of a state.
And about begging for money, its pathetic that I get email after email from out of state GOP campaigns asking for donations, but nothing from a candidate here in Cali. Its easy to tell us Californians to eat it, but in reality everyone in this country is going to have a taste because of the failure of the GOP to even try to oppose it.
When I lived in the Bay Area ...yes I’m a native born Californian ... but not a refugee ... my company transferred me to Phoenix in 2009 for which I’m eternally grateful ... but I digress ... When I lived in the bay area I was very active in the local Tea Party. I gave many conservative speeches for them ... I also ran for mayor of our small town. Here in Arizona ... I continue to give conservative speeches and am running for public office and lots more. It is very painful for me to watch our state being turned purple due mostly to the influx of Calif liberals. I personally travel to Prescott and Phoenix ...300 miles each way about twice a week every week to canvas and to help the cause. That is the kind of effort that I believe Calif refugees should make before abandoning their state and going to another. Sure that’s maybe not feasible for some people but ...that’s NOT our (other states) problem ... or should it.
Bankruptcy for a city is basically like one for a business. They ask a judge to allow them to continue to function in a basic way with remaining funds, hold off creditors while they try to sell and divide up remaining assets, or raise taxes, to satisfy creditors as much as is possible.
NY City was hours from bankruptcy. Here is a good article describing those two days in 1975.
Kudos to President Ford for telling them NO.
