President Trump on Monday defended his tax history, saying that he paid “millions of dollars” to the Internal Revenue Service and argued he is "entitled" to tax credits "like everyone else" in the wake of a New York Times report that said he paid no income taxes at all in 10 of the previous 15 years.

the tax code has been used as a weapon against people and if the politicians leave in ways to lower someone’s taxes, its deliberate

they know exactly what they do with the tax code

they have no moral or legitimate position to b1tch about anyone using those ways to reduce a tax bill, they either put them in on purpose or left them out on purpose

because they all use them, whichever ones apply to them

to single out another leader formusing the same ones they do is the height of hypocrisy, they know it, and enemedia gives them cover by omitting all of this

As far as I’m concerned, credits are a form of payment. There is an industry that monetizes federal tax credits to develop affordable housing. Banks and insurance companies invest billions every year under the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program.

There’s also a federal Historic Tax Credit program to incentivize re-development of historic buildings. Trump would have received HTC on his post office redevelopment (Trump Hotel) in Washington. The credit is 20% of eligible costs and the credit used to be available in the year the building is placed in service. Trump’s tax plan changed the credit recognition over a 5 year period verses all in the year placed in service.

Fox News in defense after Trump rightfully calls them out on their biased and shoddy reporting.

But the press has no credibility, so who cares?

In all the reports I’ve yet to see anything illegal in what he did.

The anger is misplaced, it's elected officials that lure companies into their states by telling them they won't have to pay taxes for 10 years.

Agreed. Trump should concisely say:

I have paid 10’ of millions of dollars in all kinds of taxes.

I rely on my highly professional tax lawyers and consultants.

These tax professionals do not WRITE the law. They follow it and do the very best for their client, whether it is Donald Trump or anyone else.

A more interesting question concerning finances is: How did all the Biden’s become millionaires? How does that happen?
Joe serves in politics for almost 50 years. He wasn’t a millionaire when he started. Neither was his family. Now they are all millionaires. How does that happen? We know how. It’s how Washington DC and the “Swamp” works.

Wonder why they don’t investigate Hunter Biden’s income tax returns and the sources of his income. How about the abuses of the Clinton Foundation. Why nothing on them?

You guys aren’t watching his pressers. He does speak clearly, it’s the media that reduces what he says to fragments. Best to watch the pressers yourself instead of letting the media tell you what he said.

I’d focus my hate on the NY Times.

And you might get to back up your hate after the election is stolen, if it indeed is.

Anyone working at the times is a traitor and needs to be treated as such when hell breaks loose.

Trump should claim that he got a great big write-off deduction for the underwear he donated.

FNC ceased to be back in 2016.

Except for 3 hours from 8 to 11 pm Eastern on weeknights, FNC is now a mouthpiece for Deep State.

Fox News is probably the one channel that is halfway fair to Trump. Tucker Carlson wouldn’t be found on any other broadcaster, except maybe Sky News Australia which is the other MSM outlet that isn’t abjectedly lefty and anti-Trump.

Yeah, I can see Billionaire Businessman Donald Trump sitting at his Computer using Turbo Tax to get every Legal Deduction “guaranteed”.

I assume all Democrats like Pelosi Short Form it every year and take the Standard Deduction.

Funny how nobody is covering the fact that the unauthorized release of a Private Citizen’s Tax Returns is a Federal Crime.

Everything that I've seen says that POTUS has been involved in "avoiding" taxes. EVERYBODY tries to avoid taxes. That's why you have an accountant do your taxes and there is absolutely no crime in avoiding taxes.

Tax evasion is another story, and the MSM is trying to get the public thinking that that is what this is about, but they know that they'd better make dam sure they don't use that word.

They are despicable.
