A Black man was executed by the federal government Thursday for a crime he committed at age 19, even though his attorney said prosecutors used inflammatory racial stereotypes during the trial 20 years ago to land her client on death row.

Vialva was sentenced to death in the 1999 killing in Texas of Todd and Stacie Bagley, a white couple who were youth ministers.
What a bunch of race baiting tripe from NBC. The honorable Black man is being unjustly being put to death for dispatching a meddlesome white couple who happened to belong to a ministry. Probably christians while the Black man appears to be a Muslim. Made is sound like Trump pulled the lever.

People who take this seriously are either irretrievably stupid or were never gonna vote for Trump anyway.

Not a "Black" man. Just a "black" man. No capital "B". A capital "B" denotes superiority.

In a recent op-ed for Bloomberg Law, Jason Chein, a professor of psychology at Temple University, said Vialva's then-pending execution ignores what "the last 20-plus years of research has taught us about the developing brains of teenagers and adolescents." "Science suggests that no person of this age should be eligible for capital punishment," he wrote.According to that idiot, if the rest of the population runs afoul of these "still-developing teens", they are SOL.
So long Vialva, we hardly knew ye.

"Of course, in the year 2000, the theme of the super predator, that there were these kids that just marauded through our communities wreaking havoc, was a very powerful and very convincing narrative," she said.
A brutal double murder was incidental to the confirmation of the narrative, I imagine.

There are some things stupid teens do that can be lived down, given enough time. Cold-blooded murder is not one of them.

He probably lived about 19 years longer than he would have on the streets.
Tears shed, zero.

Trump addressed this at his rally last night. Said they approached him for clemency and when he saw how horrific the details of the crime were he just couldn’t do it.

He and his friends kidnapped the couple, drove around for six hours with the couple in the trunk, then shot the husband, killing him instantly. The wife was also shot, but did not die right away. She was still alive when the killers set the car on fire. The autopsy found soot in her lungs.
But he was convicted and executed only because he was young and black, right? The making of excuses is sickening, and he should have been executed about 20 years ago.

“I think it had a very strong impact on the jury’s decision to conclude that Christopher was a mad dog that needed to be put down,” she said. “I think, as time has proven, nothing could be further from the truth.”
The truth is that he killed to innocent people.

Then they should not be able to vote, serve in the military, or take out a loan in their own name.

The proper sentence for a felony is death.
Long prison sentences solve nothing
I do suggest, at least, a competent appeal process

“serve in the military”
Combat is a young man’s game.
The only thing I could do in combat is fire a rifle from a fighting hole, or stand off 300 yards and snipe.

A racist stereotype held by liberals is that black people should be held to a lower standard of behavior because they are less able to control their passions and impulses.
I wonder how many of them realize that exactly the same arguments were made in Plessy v. Ferguson to uphold the doctrine of separate but equal.
