Gas lighting comes from a the movie where the husband tries to convince his wife that she’s crazy for being suspicious of him. Gas lighting is trying to make someone feel crazy for believing as they do.

It’s what communists do.
It’s deeper than communism, it’s people who have lived their lives based on lies, and unfortunately have had the scaffolding to support those lies and now the facade has been exposed. Their true evil nature is then how they react to preserve and attempt to destroy their enemies - we who choose the Truth. And yes, Communism is one such type of societal scaffolding.
What makes Joy think that we’ll ever forgive the left for the chaos and anarchy they incited for the last four years? I think she fears reprisals. It could happen.

I think Trump supporters in my area have gone stealth.
You see a fair number of Biden signs, placed there by union hacks and Democrat block captains. Very few Trump signs actually.
I think Trump supporters here are keeping their heads down and their powder dry. No use getting your house firebombed until CW 2.0 is on in earnest.

The more the fear of losing another election comes to bare, the more psycho/unhinged they will become.
The problem is that most people do not want conflict in their lives. IF you are not willing to stand up for what is right against what is wrong you will lose your freedoms.

I know people here in NH that call themselves conservatives, but they are afraid to put up a Trump sign in their yard. These people do not live in the city. They live in suburban/country neighborhoods. IF you are afraid. YOU are part of the problem.

The majority of Americans ARE “Trumpists”..... I think we will get along with ourselves just fine.
As for the minority, who are Trump haters, there are two types:
Those who are contrite and who come to understand that they were brainwashed - they will find Trump supporters to be merciful and forgiving.
Those who continue to choose hate over reason will condemn themselves to a life of misery.
Everybody else has mentioned the movie and the plot, but the actual term ‘Gas Lighting’ was because the husband would leave the room and then manipulate the gas lights (in the days prior to electric) to dim. They would return to normal before he returned, and when she mentions it, he denies it happens and leads her into believing she’s hallucinating.
I could be wrong, so please grade on the curve.

We have a free press. What we don't have is anything close to a fair press. Nowadays, the press is almost completely "Let's hate Trump".
I can’t stand that guy, and I have never watched a movie he played in. He’s not funny at all.
The Leo Guinan incident was simply a public demonstration of things to come. This happens in all leftist countries. Family members turn on others of their family. There is no family, only the state. Anyone who thinks blood is thicker than party will pay the price.
