Fox News host Mark Levin disputed the notion the novel coronavirus killed 200,000 people in the U.S., referring to the grim figure from health officials as the biggest lie this century.
The conservative commentator rejected the death toll during Wednesdays episode of his syndicated radio program and podcast fresh on the heels of having interviewed President Trump on his Fox show days earlier.
Weve hit they say an ominous number, ladies and gentlemen. Two hundred thousand people have died from the coronavirus. That is the biggest lie this century, he told listeners of The Mark Levin Show.
Two hundred thousand people died who may have had the coronavirus, but less than 10,000 died from and only from the coronavirus, asserted Mr. Levin, a conservative commentator lauded often by Mr. Trump.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, previously explained the 6% refers to people who had nothing else but just COVID when they died from the disease.
That does not mean someone with hypertension or diabetes, who dies of COVID, didnt die of COVID-19 they did, Dr. Fauci said when those reports first circulated last month at the death toll was at 180,000.
The number of people to die in the U.S. from COVID-19 surpassed 200,000 this week, according to Johns Hopkins University. Close to 2% of the nations population has tested positive for the virus since January.
The idea of 200,000 deaths is really very sobering, and in some respects, stunning, Dr. Fauci told CNN this week.

Media Matters for America first reported Mr. Levins remarks Wednesday.

1. Well, its a sad day when the Washington Times relies on a Media Matters. That said, my information comes straight from the CDC website. Fauci is spinning as he often does. The CDC looked at death certificates.— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) September 24, 2020
2. Fauci looked at nothing. He says it doesnt mean people didnt die from the virus. But it doesnt mean they did. Thats why the reporting on this is so sloppy and dishonest, just like Faucis comment.https://t.co/k6u5c4OoGi— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) September 24, 2020
Andrew Blake, Educate yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fauci who bows at the feet of the corrupt Hillary Clinton is so full of s**t that it is coming out his ears.
Then produce the name, city & state of those they count as “Died from Covid-19” and let independent investigations look into it.
That does not mean someone with hypertension or diabetes, who dies of COVID, didnt die of COVID-19 they did, Dr. Fauci said
So, in his words -- someone who dies of COVID, is by definition someone who died of COVID. Thanks Einstein, that clears it up.
200,000 people died WITH the COVID-19 virus. That doesn't mean it was the cause of their death. He's using numbers in a very convenient way, to maximize the Fear.
Thank GOD Levin is calling out the BS. I am so sick of being lied to and then forced into believing it.
By that standard, nobody in the US dies of cancer.
Sure, the cancer may have ravaged their body and left them in a state of multiple organ failure, but it was their heart stopping that killed them. So nobody dies of cancer.
This line of argument just looks absurd in light of the excess mortality figures, which have been way over the threshold for excess mortality every single week in the US since March. If anything, the excess mortality figures suggest we’ve been undercounting COVID-19 deaths. It’s probably closer to 240,000. Doesn’t change a thing about criticisms about the response from governors (mostly Democrats). But trying to claim reality doesn’t exist when it’s looking people right in the face just destroys our credibility.
That’s not what he said. You’re as bad as Fauci.
Interesting. Where did you get “excess mortality” figures?
What doctors disagree? Fauchi who has never practiced hands-on medicine? Maybe a few other state and local health directors who have a stake in the power they’ve been given?
BS from the start.
Everyone dies of cardiac arrest.
Anyone who cites a different cause is lying.
Perhaps the most astute observer of the ongoing destruction of what remains of western civilization warns that “We have met the enemy and he is US!”

Here's one good source:
Other studies or groups compiled data separately:
Where it is proper to challenge the 200,000 count numbers is
with regard to a normal healthy person’s chances of dying
from COVID-19. Those chances are very low.
Where it is improper to challenge those numbers, is with
regard to people who actually died of the disease. IMO
that 200,000+ figure is accurate.
Folks, we have people each year die of the flu. No one in
their right mind challenges those numbers, even though some
of the same dynamics are in play.
Normal healthy people come down with the flu and pass
through unscathed. Others with co-morbidities come down
with it and their damaged immune system can’t fight it
off.
If a person with heart disease, cancer, or COPD are shot
dead in a riot, did they die of heart disease, cancer, or
COPD? No. They died of a gun shot to the head (if that
was the case).
In the same way, a person diagnosed to die in the next
period of time under a year gets COVID-19 and dies due
to complications from their pre-existing disease, they
still died from the primary cause, the virus. Without
the virus, they would have lived on for a period of time.
Some folks touch on the idea that cancer rates of death
have fallen, and other causes of death have fallen too.
That is understandable. If people are shot dead, thosee
same rate drops could be determined to have fallen,
but understandably so.
If 200,000 people were shot dead, would that have have
prevented any other cause of death being recorded? Well
yes...
Where the hoax comes into play, is when the media tries
to scare people off that 200,000 number. We know that
very few people died from the disease, that didn’t have
a comorbidity. That’s what we need to focus on.
Just simply blurting out that it’s all a big hoax isn’t
productive. It’s not accurate, and it doesn’t get your
point across.
It isn’t a big lie that over 200,000 people died from
the disease, even though it would be better to state
that over 200,000 people died prematurely because of
the disease.
They did die prematurely because of the disease, but
normal healthy people without underlying medical
problems hardly ever do.
Just blurting out it’s a big hoax, big lie, or whatever
explains none of this.
When this all started out, some of us said this disease
would likely take fewer people than the normal seasonal
flu. Well, as it turns out, we were right.
We don’t challenge the numbers of the flu each year. I
think we should use that as our guide for many of the
issues related to this disease.
Quit acting like it doesn’t exist. It does. People are
dying prematurely from it. Explain how that does or doesn’t
matter for the general public.
I think you’ll get a lot farther with your message.
The true number is unknowable.
The high numbers are contaminated by “died with” cases - like a motorcycle accident where the dead rider has a + test.
The low numbers are contaminated by the claim that obesity, hypertension, or age are the “real” cause of death, while most people with BMI>30 or BP systolic>140 have many years to live without intercurrent illness such as COVID. Even the old folks, if they die of a fall or a heart attack while silently COVID + shouldn’t count, but a little old lady happily embroidering Easter napkins who gets COVID and dies of respiratory failure in a week most certainly IS a COVID death.
Just one of many examples...

What are the total deaths in US?
2018 2,839,205
2019 2,855,000
2020 774,000 Jan- Mar only?
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/provisional-tables.htm
Why no further monthly data?
WI
2019 50,393 thru sept 37,794
2020 YTD 36,949 plus est 828 (138 daily x6)=
thru sept 37,798
https://www.indexmundi.com/clocks/indicator/deaths/united-states
I couldn’t find 2020 YTD US deaths.
For WI (thru Sept 30)there has been no increase in overall death numbers.
I would like to see this for the US?
Misdiagnosis isn’t new to medicine.
I’m sure there are other examples also. What would be
interesting is if there weren’t any.
Now, how many people died of it but were not recorded
as having done so?
I’m sure there are people like that out there too.
Then you have doctors out there that diagnose the wrong
disease as the problem, and other doctors who examine
someone and find nothing wrong just weeks before they
die.
S happens.
