Yet old people keep joining it and giving it money without demanding accountability.
If this is true, it will bear out the warning of many that Trump should not have been eliminating the payroll tax right before the election.
The payroll tax is the FICA tax that comes out of everyones paycheck and is supposed to go directly to fund Social Security. (Yes I know you can argue that technically it goes to the governments general fund, but right before an election is not the time to have to argue over such wonkish issues about Social Security funding. Trump opened a can of worms - then he made it worse by being unclear about whether he wanted to permanently cancel the payroll tax after the election; cancelling it would be taking away the traditional pipeline of funding for Social Security. This gave Biden a big talking point and apparently hes using it in ad campaigns in swing states)
I am not scared. I am outraged at the Biden lying.
BS, the only thing seniors are scared about, thanks to Biden, is getting Dementia.
As a senior myself who is now receiving SS, Ditto. He’s just hoping they are as senile as he is.
Not only am I not worry about my SS, but I’m often the only one in the room not wearing a mask.
My family sure doesnt.
Theyre part of how Democrats have won elections for many years.
Blah blah blah
EVERY ELECTION we get the “Ending Social Security” scam.
Maybe all those democrat governors shouldn’t have sent all the sick people to nursing homes after all.
Trump should respond with an ad promising them he will not send them to one of Coomo’s New York nursing homes and challenge Sleepy to make the same pledge.
Seniors have a right to be concerned.
The Trump campaign have not countered these lies
as Sperry notes.
Me Too.
“So far the Trump campaign has marshaled no effective response”
The never-Trump RNC continues to sit on its hands, waiting to post panicky fundraising pleas for the 2022 midterms to enrich itself while America dies.
As far as the seniors, what’s obviously different this year than in all previous years is the Chinky Bioweapon. Gullible Geezers are particularly susceptible — both to the virus, if they are imprisoned in a nursing home in a Democrat-controlled state, and especially to the Democrat propaganda which airs 24/7 (not just in commercials) and has been since March.
Trump has lost a lot of ground with Gullible Geezers, whether the ostriches who reject any bit of information that makes them sad want to believe it or not. The Republicans have wasted a whole lot of time NOT fighting back on this issue, and NOT running effective ads in other areas either.
Democrat rioters in Democrat cities who are not being prosecuted by Democrat D.A.’s while innocent people are being brutalized comes to mind. The next Republican ad hitting hard on this issue will be the first one. Maybe we’ll finally see it in 2022.
Sad to say, I can see the Biden ads that have been running in Florida working on a certain set of elderly folk. There are the scary Orange man will take away your social security and Medicare ads, yes, but there are also some ads that go for the heart strings that feature people who lost family to COVID-19 and one where Biden shares his personal story and says that he didnt know what he would have done if he had lacked insurance when his wife and kids were in the car accident. Of course, theres a lot of BS in all of those, but they are much better ads than I ever saw for Hillary.
Campaigns based on fear will never beat those based on hope.
President Trump didn’t run a campaign based on scaring people. He ran a campaign based on securing American jobs, securing America’s borders, and bringing prosperity back to Americans who work hard to provide for their families. That’s a message that gets people excited to vote for you.
Biden’s messages of fear might wiggle a polling value slightly, but it never works out in your favor on election day.
Seniors have a right to be concerned.
The Trump campaign have not countered these lies
as Sperry notes.
Trump asked for this problem by cutting the payroll tax and suggesting hell try to eliminate it starting next year
The payroll tax is the FICA tax that funds Social Security. Sure, a different funding structure could be created, but why Trump would want to open up this debate - and give Biden a talking point - just before the election is baffling
I warned on Freerepublic that Trump was settingvhimself up for Social Security attacks when he cut the payroll tax last month
The good news is that so many are dead now that Trump doesn’t have to worry as much about them.
Which is why the Nigerian prince and Indian computer fix-it scam artists are rich.
Politicians have use that old standby of slashing Social Security since I was a kid.
