Utah Senator @MittRomney is onboard for a vote before the election. That now means 51 Republicans will vote.

This SCOTUS vote before the election will demoralize Dem voters who are already morose with their lackluster demented low energy candidate. The economy is rebounding, Covid fading, and the Biden riots have made Law and Order a huge suburban winning issue for Trump.
Dem turnout could be low. They are losing, losing, losing.
Romney must have seen Trumps internal polls and realized that Trump will be president when Romney runs for reelection in 2022.
Two have said they will vote. They did not say they will confirm. It’s not over - not by a long shot.
According to his presser, probably yes.
It shouldn’t have anything to do with who made the nomination.
If he votes no the media will celebrate him. If he votes yes the media will crucify him.
Decisions, decisions.
I figure he was offered either a large cash payment, committee after election, sinecure after retirement - or perhaps plain old blackmail.
Still, he’s not to be trusted.
Of course not. We know however, Romney is petty and childish because he loathes Trump.
Frankly, I've always thought Romney was a creepy used car salesman kinda guy. Just appears slimy...just like McCain, Lindsey Graham, Nadler, Schiff...oh man, I could go on.
After all, his psuedo name online was “Pierre Delecto”. Good grief!
I do not wish for riots, as I am sure you don't either. It will hurt many innocent people. But I do understand what you are saying. There will be more riots for sure, and they will do nothing but help President Trump.
Dems are so stupid! They started condemning the riots and calling off their dogs because the polls were sliding away from them and now they are going to do it again? Do they think it will somehow be different? Isn't it a sign of insanity to keep doing the same thing over expecting a different result? BTW, has anyone heard anything about the big “surround the White House” Month that the left was promising. Did it fizzle out? Or, are there so few the the Lib shills in the media are conveniently staying quiet about it?
It's going to be crazy until Election Day...
And for weeks afterwords.
I hope your right, but he said he would vote, not that he would vote for confirmation.
I just see the vision of John McCain’s epic “thumbs down” on Obamacare removal.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Mitt did this because his hatred of Trump is so strong.
All of those are possibilities. Could be horse trading going on. It is a possibility that he sees this an easy first step to rebuild his reputation in Utah and (in his mind) burnish his resume to run for Prez again in 2024. Yeah, I don't think that will happen either. But as someone has said, once a person gets the Presidential fever it is hard to get rid of it.
But I agree, there is no way we could trust him.
That's true, but best to have an insurance vote in case one of the GOPers turns yellow at the prospect of being doxxed or otherwise harassed.
From what I read, the Senate is on board and McConnell wants Amy Coney Barrett for a quick confirmation. They want a pro-life judget and don’t care about the politics so much. They think it might hurt them in the election but it is worth it to lock in a real conservative for 40 years on the court. If the democrats win the Presidency and Senate and court pack, they’ll have historic losses in the 2022 midterms and get Republicans back in power. But those are all short term calculations.
They will always lock in a 40 year term on the Supreme Court. Alaways. It’s probably even more important to them than Trump’s reelection.
I was leaning toward Lagoa but now think Barrett might be the better overall pick as polls show he is underperforming with conservative women who do not like his tweets. Barrett probably solidifies the pick and brings them on board. Vote for policy and hold your nose on Trump’s mean tweets.
He read my post from yesterday, where I suggested he would deny Trump his nomination and then I’d move to Utah and run against him next time!!! LOL
Just because mittens will vote, doesn’t mean he’s not a defector.
Thanks!!!
“Hes onboard to vote . . . does that mean he will vote yea?”
He will vote for the candidate only because it is politically expedient for him. Any Republican who votes no for the nominee is dead. No more support from the party. Murkowski and Collins will also vote yes for the candidate.

Me either.
There’s no way Mittens won’t take the opportunity to break it off in Trump’s ___ same as McCain.
