Avowed neo-Nazi James Alex Fields Jr. was sentenced to centuries in prison for the running over and killing Heather Heyer when plowing his car into a crowd of counter-protesters during the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
video evidence to the contrary. james fields needed a better lawyer.

Former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum (D), who lost the gubernatorial election to DeSantis in 2018, immediately called for legal advocacy groups to bring legal action, saying that the DeSantis move would have legalized the murder of Heather Heyer in Charlottesville.
Says the guy who was found naked and passed out in a pool of his own vomit, with a male prostitute, drugs, drug paraphernalia, semen and feces on the bed. Yeah, us Floridians really care about his opinion.

the next clause purports to remove liability for injury or death a driver causes if that driver is fleeing for safety from a mob. I wasn't aware that I needed permission to flee for my life using any means necessary.

Interesting...the article makes no mention about the changes to socerign liability that DeSantis is proposing.
That’s the really important bit to my mind.
Citizens will be able to sue the local government for damages for anything that happens to them.
If DeSantis gets that, that is huge.

As usual, the left attempts to spin the self-defensive actions of law-abiding citizens who find themselves trapped and attacked by rabid mobs as something criminal.

It’s a sad day in this country when a Governor feels the need to propose a bill to legalize self-defense.

Mob assaults on a vehicle with breaking of glass constitute an immediate threat of death or serious bodily injury, using the vehicle as your means of deadly force eliminates risk of lead flying to bystanders and is already justified by the common law and self-defense statutes in all 50 states.

Pushes Crackdown on Rioting That Would Allow Drivers to Run Over a Mob without Liability
It’s essentially a form of ‘stand your ground’, except it incorporates the reasonable parts of the lefts concept of fleeing danger.
