Governor Kate Brown saluted the ad-hoc brigades of Molalla at a news conference on Thursday, saying fire commanders had acknowledged the "real heroes" as being the "local community members, the majority of them volunteers, who worked tirelessly to save their community." I'm surprised she didn't condemn them for taking matters into their own hands.

The governor needs to realize that some Oregonians want to put out fires instead of setting them, and respond accordingly.
