If only we were a democracy......
So they are saying Trump should expand the court and appoint five new justices !
Lets do this !!!
Please make her a bartender again. At least there she might know what she’s doing.
After hearing that the world is going to end so many times, I dont feel inclined to believe it from the left. Oh, and they help make it what they whine about too.
“AOC warns Democrats Trump-Biden election a lifestyle changer: Theres no going back to brunch “
That’s FINE with me - I wish other Dems were saying that, and our side says the same. It implies that we vote in a peaceful election, and the stakes are huge...and she’s totally right.
Unfortunately, the rest of her party is now DEMANDING violence and rioting, if things don’t go their way. And we’re very likely to see that. (and yes, I know she’ll say support it, I’m just taking the headline as written)
Our democracy is at a faint heartbeat; it was broken even before Trump.
Agreed, Obama damn near killed it.
What a scold. I bet many Democrats can’t stand her constant diatribe style. When was the last time Democrats had a “happy warrior” like Hubert Humphrey? 1968?
Thought she hated brunch. Now that she is a millionaire she must enjoy brunch.
The Annoying Oblivious-Commie is almost certainly right. Either we have a slim chance to restore the rule of law over the next four years or the second civil war is starting within months. If America’s enemies win, there’s no going back.
Note that AOC and her ilk never spell out specifically what harm Trump is doing or which of his policies is so damaging. Nothing, nada. They just bash him relentlessly because they want socialism — and after that communism. As long as THEY are the ones in charge of course.
Geez. I am so glad that AOC has been named Empress...
Crazy Cortez expects to be a World changing force in the Biden Admin , Communism For Everyone ,LOL
NO MORE BRUNCH..Jerry Nadler the most devastated
"I would bet on American democracy surviving this bleak period, for sure, but the challenge is stiffer than any we've faced in my lifetime," Gore said.
If America's Constitution had structured a "democracy," then all the talk about whether it would "survive" might make sense, historically speaking.
The Founders' Constitution did not structure a "democracy," however, which makes Gore's and AOC's opinions irrelevant to any informed discussion.
The Founders and Framers of America's Constitutional government made their intentions and their Constitutional structuring clear at that time, and the subsequent late-19th Century and later talk of "democracy" reflects a Liberal/Progressive ideology--not the Framers' philosophy of individual liberty and limited government power.
To go from what Jefferson called "the American mind" of 1776--generations who were willing to sacrifice everything for the cause of liberty in America and, as a "beacon of liberty" throughout the world--to what only can be described as the "foolishness" discussed in the subject article of this thread, should alarm all who care about the prospects of freedom for our posterity!
Posterity! You will never know how much it cost the present Generation to preserve your Freedom! I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven, that I ever took half the Pains to preserve it. - John AdamsThe second Adams quotation, above, reminds us, too, that, contrary to Progressive claims, the Founders and Framers of America's Constitution never formed a "democracy," as is explained thoroughly by John Quincy Adams in his "Jubilee" Address* in NYC at the invitation of the New York Historical Society in 1839, which concludes with the following statement:Democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself. There was never a democracy that did not commit suicide. - John Adams, letter to John Taylor, 1814
" Fellow-citizens, the ark of your covenant is the Declaration of independence. Your Mount Ebal, is the confederacy of separate state sovereignties, and your Mount Gerizim is the Constitution of the United States. In that scene of tremendous and awful solemnity, narrated in the Holy Scriptures, there is not a curse pronounced against the people, upon Mount Ebal, not a blessing promised them upon Mount Gerizim, which your posterity may not suffer or enjoy, from your and their adherence to, or departure from, the principles of the Declaration of Independence, practically interwoven in the Constitution of the United States. Lay up these principles, then, in your hearts, and in your souls bind them for signs upon your hands, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes teach them to your children, speaking of them when sitting in your houses, when walking by the way, when lying down and when rising up write them upon the doorplates of your houses, and upon your gates cling to them as to the issues of life adhere to them as to the cords of your eternal salvation. So may your childrens children at the next return of this day of jubilee, after a full century of experience under your national Constitution, celebrate it again in the full enjoyment of all the blessings recognized by you in the commemoration of this day, and of all the blessings promised to the children of Israel upon Mount Gerizim, as the reward of obedience to the law of God."

*THE JUBILEE OF THE CONSTITUTION: A Discourse Delivered at the Request of the New York Historical Society, in the City of New York, on Tuesday, the 30th of April, 1839; Being the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Inauguration of George Washington as President of the United States, on Thursday, the 30th of April, 1789."

So as I read this I gather the only reason for this communication to the ‘progressives’ is to insure the Bernie voters all show up to vote for Biden this year as opposed to Hilary’s presidential campaign.
