I was one of those “pearl clutchers” because I am generally not a fan of pulling your gun if you don’t have any bullets.
Romney is a snake, Murkowski is a rat, and Collins is a weasel. Plus, there are a number of get along types who want to campaign just before the election. McConnell can effortlessly move any vote past the election, and he is not trustworthy on this.
All that said, if Trump wants to move forward, he has determined that pushing the nomination forward will scramble the Dem machine more than ours. So I am on board, but I still don’t expect a vote before the election, maybe not even hearings.

I don't think I'm "weak-kneed." I think it would help Trump in the upcoming election. If he were to lose the Democrats could effectively neuter his choice anyway by packing the court ala FDR.

I agree with you. Screw the Democrats, who are full of hate and would never do us the same favor in a million years. Screw the Democrats and their complicit media who have spent the past four years making Trump's first term a living hell, with the sham impeachments and other resistance tactics.
Let's ram this SC replacement through and then re-elect Trump so that he can appoint three more SC justices (for total of six).
The biggest reason to push through this nomination is to offset the election shenanigans that the Democrats have planned at the ballot box.

what is the point when you KNOW the Representatives are going to hold this up as much as possible, cheering on the narrow-minority Senate to hold the nominee hostage for 2 months?
Which, BTW, is enough time to get Dem pres and Dem Congress firmly in place which negates it all right away.
