I was one of those “pearl clutchers” because I am generally not a fan of pulling your gun if you don’t have any bullets.
Romney is a snake, Murkowski is a rat, and Collins is a weasel. Plus, there are a number of get along types who want to campaign just before the election. McConnell can effortlessly move any vote past the election, and he is not trustworthy on this.
All that said, if Trump wants to move forward, he has determined that pushing the nomination forward will scramble the Dem machine more than ours. So I am on board, but I still don’t expect a vote before the election, maybe not even hearings.
The GOP RINO Rat Senators will have a choice.
Confirm Trumps nominee before the election or
forever be remembered as killing off the GOP.
Cruz summed it up perfectly.
We will need that seat filled before the election.
There will be election chaos and massive mail in ballot fraud. The SC
will have to step in and resolve the one or more issues.
We need that seat. We need a pumped up voter base and we need
that confirmation BEFORE the election.
If you cant deliver a Supreme Court confirmation with a 53-47 Senate majority, then your political party shouldnt even exist.
Nothing in politics happens without a plan. I suspect this has already been “gamed” by both the Repubs and Dems...The Repubs must believe they have the upper hand hence pressing forward...the Dems realize they’re in a tight squeeze. Overreact and turn off undecided and independent voters...under react and turn off the base. The screws are about to be tightened. Reactions are already known...buckle up, it’s going to be a wild ride the next 45 days.
I think Mitch can get this before the election with the right candidate. It will naturally be a woman to avoid all of the ‘me too’ charges.
What matters is which Senators are up for re-election. That would be Collins.
McConnell and Trump have discussed this in depth well before they made any public statements.
WE.ONLY.NEED.50.PLUS.PENCE. Get it?
