You are correct, that’s the way it looks on paper. The question is how will Roberts act? If it ends up 4-4, the decision of the lower court prevails. In the case of the Michigan Supreme Court that will likely show up very soon, that would be a disaster for the Republic.
He has a chance to save the Republic and help the nation through this election. I hope that he does the right thing.

not all mastriano, Russ Diamond and some others,. and it takes more than a few. but as in the feds, if the courts are corrupt and write the laws, you have a choice to disobey the unlawful orders and suffer the consequences. as some business here have done over the covid unlawful orders. The Dems run the exec (State Dept) and so they will comply with what they think is the law. The legislature can write pass anything they want. If the court is corrupt and everyone defers to them they prevail.
The legislatures can meet and try to fix the issue but it won’t matter. The Courts will just reissue their ruling. Judges hold the high cards and can play them whenever they wish.
