The Senate and the nation mourn the sudden passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the conclusion of her extraordinary American life.
Justice Ginsburg overcame one personal challenge and professional barrier after another. She climbed from a modest Brooklyn upbringing to a seat on our nations highest court and into the pages of American history. Justice Ginsburg was thoroughly dedicated to the legal profession and to her 27 years of service on the Supreme Court. Her intelligence and determination earned her respect and admiration throughout the legal world, and indeed throughout the entire nation, which now grieves alongside her family, friends, and colleagues.

In the last midterm election before Justice Scalias death in 2016, Americans elected a Republican Senate majority because we pledged to check and balance the last days of a lame-duck presidents second term. We kept our promise. Since the 1880s, no Senate has confirmed an opposite-party presidents Supreme Court nominee in a presidential election year.
By contrast, Americans reelected our majority in 2016 and expanded it in 2018 because we pledged to work with President Trump and support his agenda, particularly his outstanding appointments to the federal judiciary. Once again, we will keep our promise.
President Trumps nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.

Ninja Turtle!!!
Cocaine Mitch is coming through! This will be epic!
Go Turtle!
If the Republicans sink the nomination you can say bye bye senate.
Chuck would do it...so good on Mitch! That’s how you play the game.
Yeah, but doesn't say WHEN.
Hoping DJT puts up the Conservative babe from Indiana!
Murkowski ran to the press as fast as she could to announce she will not be voting for an RGB replacement until after the November election has been decided. How long will it be before Collins, Romney, and other RINO’s join her?
Let the games begin.
JoMa
Praise Jesus.
If I were in his shoes, I'd publicly announce that the GOP Senate will treat the nomination process with the same sense of fairness and justice that the Democrats treated the impeachment last winter. That means minimal hearings, only GOP witnesses, and a Senate vote within two weeks.
He should even order a bunch of "SCOTUS Nomination" pens for President Trump -- just to hammer home the point.
Better buckle up! This year has been one heck of a roller coaster and it’s going to get even wilder!
Murder Turtle is not playing games!
If hes saying this now, hes got the votes to confirm.
Let there be war
Two or three Republicans will vote no...and Jones of Alabama just might vote yes (to save his a$$ on 11/3).
I hope so.
We can lose three. If it is a 50 50:tie, pence casts the tie breaker! The only other wobbly one is graham. However, he is in a tough race and needs every republican vote he can get. It would be suicide for him to not vote for the nominee. Mitch can do This!
