I wish folks would be specific. The term WMD is similar to, though not quite as bad as, the “assault rifle”. When I was still active duty, it meant nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons. Saddam did not have nukes. He tried and the Israelis put an end to that in the eighties. It’s thought he was working on bio weapons. We know he had chemical weapons. He used them against his own people in the eighties and probably against the Iranians during the Iraqi Iran wars. Convoys were observed carrying what was reported as the chemical weapons to Syria just before the allied invasion. Syria suddenly had chemical weapons afterward. It’s not hard to follow.
So I don’t get the continued argument over whether he had WMDs (illegal by UN and other laws) or not. If the question is did he have a nuke bomb in the works, probably not. But no doubts whatsoever about chemical. Bio was probably a maybe in that they were likely working on them.
He needs to get over himself. I had tougher work in high school than in my Ivy master’s program.

Yes what they found was very hazardous, which is probably why it was left there. Was there more? I don’t know. Some Iraqis not loyal to Saddam said they sent it to Syria.
It doesn’t take a masters degree to know how to spot a traitor.

If you recall, Chemical Ali was Saddam Hussein's head of all the chemical weapon activities and in charge of using them against the Kurds as well as Shia resistance groups. He was hanged in 2010 for chemical weapon genocide of the Kurds. Iraq was clearly using WMDs against its own people.
Shortly before the 2003 invasion, the UN and others reported large convoys of trucks totaling 1,200 semis taking "stuff" from Iraq into Syria. These reports have been largely purged as it is no longer PC to say that Iraq had WMDs since it is much more important to accuse the USA of starting a baseless war; baseless as in Iraq systematically violating something like 17 UN resolutions. But it certainly gave al Assad a nice headstart with going after his own opposition groups with chemical weapons. I suspect that what we are not supposed to know is which other countries helped Saddam with developing all this stuff.
Having a masters or PhD means nothing to me.
The best programmer I ever knew had only a high school diploma; best engineer I ever knew had a BS from an unknown college. It isn’t the degrees they have it’s how they apply their knowledge.
But she usually uses the DR prefix, giving the impression she is a “real doctor”...not an “Education PhD.”
