The Republican-led Senate confirmed six of President Donald Trump's judicial nominees to lifetime appointments over two days this week, even though it has delayed crucial coronavirus relief since May.
The Senate filled four federal vacancies in California and two in Illinois, Bloomberg Law reported. It is also expected to confirm two additional Illinois judges in short order.
"The Senate has confirmed six of Trump's judicial nominees in the past 30 hours," tweeted Vanita Gupta, the president and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. "These are lifetime appointments that McConnell's pushing through instead of the HEROES Act & other crucial legislation."

The Senate additionally confirmed David Dugan and Stephen McGlynn to the Eastern District of Illinois while ending the debate on the nominations of Iain Johnston to the Northern District. The upper chamber is also expected to end debate on the nomination of Franklin Ulyses Valderrama to the Northern District of Illinois.
Advocacy groups sounded the alarm over the confirmations of Dugan and McGlynn, who received support from anti-abortion organizations and signaled their opposition to abortion rights.

To pass a bil, perhaps Pelosi should be relieved of the tyranny she enforces
McConnell is a good guy and has worked his butt off not only to get judges approved but also to get us through the impeachment fiasco.
You bely your name. You oppose mitch, you oppose liberty
Kudos to the turtle for ramming through the judges. Pelosi and Schunmer want 3 trillion to fund their bankrupt states, NPR and planned parenthood etc. The pubbies have a reduced package that will aid the unemployed, nothing wrong with that.
Because the senate leader didn’t go nuclear on the vote for the Heros act, since all the dems voted against it, it’s his fault the heros act didn’t pass. Not that fact that not one dem helped the legislation along.
What a lying sack of s^^t!
It’s a low bar for sure, but Mitch has been the most effective Rep Sen Leader in modern times. Had we been stuck with the likes of First, Trott, Dole, etc., there is little doubt in my mind that Merrick would be sitting on the USSC and Kavanaugh would have been withdrawn for a more “moderate” nominee.
Oh and we would probably be in panic mode right about now with how the election was going between Biden and Pence because Trump would have been impeached!
That’s all you can name as long as he’s been in office?
Thanks for your opinion. Have a nice day.
Typical BS. yahoo headline. The aid in this case was loaded with Democrat poison pills allowing nationwide vote by mail, ballot harvesting, etc. Pelosi will not let a straight up coronavirus aid bill through.
And good for the Turtle ramming 6 more judges through. Keep em coming.
Glorious article.
Mitch has the bit between his teeth now and he is on the home stretch “300 judges confirmed, give or take a few, by December” as per DJT.
Nan & Chuckie have stoked Mitch’s fire with their actions, lies & outrageous rhetoric and the Country will reap the rewards.
POTUS has done a balancing act w/ Mitch. POTUS is an expert on leverage. Right now he has bargaining chips because McConnell needs him to bring the down ticket candidates home.
The democrats are blocking the aid. If the republicans eliminated the filibuster for emergency authorizations, they’d have passed the bill months ago,
