Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump's former director of national intelligence called on Congress to create a commission to "oversee the election," an especially notable proposal from a former senior administration official that comes as the President continues to sow doubt about the integrity of the upcoming contest.
Former DNI Dan Coats outlined the proposed oversight commission in an opinion piece published Thursday in The New York Times in which he wrote that "our democracy's enemies, foreign and domestic, want us to concede in advance that our voting systems are faulty or fraudulent; that sinister conspiracies have distorted the political will of the people," among other things. As a result, Coats wrote, the "most urgent task American leaders face is to ensure that the election's results are accepted as legitimate."

Report: Pence Talked Dan Coats Out of Resigning
26 March 2019
Pence is reportedly Coats closest ally in the administration. And NBC News reported the relationship between Coats and the president has stabilized for now.
Pence is said to have convinced Coats that leaving the administration so soon after Mattis would be viewed as a major upheaval in the Trump team. The network news attributed its information to current and former senior administration officials.

Pence helped Trump fill key appointments with those he was close to, including Dan Coats, nominated to be director of national intelligence, who was a senator from Indiana; Seema Verma, selected to be administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, who had advised Pence on health care when he was governor; and Marc Short, leader of the Legislative Affairs Office, who served as a longtime top adviser to Pence.
Obama told the Russians, "This is my last election. I have a lot more flexibility afterwards."
I want Trump to win in November and I hope that we control both House and Senate. I want Trump to go scorched earth from day one. Our country has nothing to lose. Purge. Purge. Purge.
If you only read what Coats wrote and ignore the added ordure that CNN revels in, what he says makes sense if followed out as written. This anonymous ballot mail-out has to be stopped cold, or, as Trump says, we will never know who won the election.
There has to be a focal point now to prevent it, whether it is a commission or court suit. It will turn the election into a travesty.
Don’t leave out Tom Ridge. He did such a great job on the 911 Commission. His RINO credentials are impeccable.
I totally agree....
I am afraid that the election, no matter how big President Trump wins, is going to be contested and contested over and over by the leftist democrat powers....
It is going to be a total fiasco...
Crazy talk from Woodward. All of it. Coats no doubt did great harm to the MAGA agenda while DNI.
This isn’t a right-left thing. Both wings of the Uniparty fully intend to deligitimize President Trump’s reelection and disenfranchise the millions of Americans who are voting for him.

LOL
Bingo!
And the R's should have recognized this prior to, or at least during the Bush v Gore debacle. It is pathetic that only now at this arguably "too late" date a relatively small out-of-government voice raises the alarm. WTH have the R's been?
One small edit:
We will never know who won the election. We will know, we will likely not know how it was won or whether it was honest.
Oh, hell no.
