I could tell they were less stressed when we left. It was quite cool that morning. And they do have their hidey holes to cuddle in when it’s chilly at night. It’ll be 68 at the coolest part of the night. Whereas here it’ll be 39. The house is pretty chilly because they haven’t used the heat yet. They’re used to the chill.

What kind of snuggly bed will he have. A nice cozy box? Some of mine have a large trash bin turned over and fitted with a piece of carpet and a soft blanket. Water proof yet warm. We taped plastic sheeting over most of the front to keep the rain and cold winds out as much as possible.

It looks like you had a gorgeous day for your outing.

Nice of your sister to get a new leash for Gizmo. It never hurts to have a back-up. Not with the way he likes to suddenly take off when he sees another pooch. LOL

Mmmmmmm, 68 sounds quite nice. Bet the kitties enjoy that!
39, not so much. LOL

I don’t know what I’ll use for Jobu’s bed. I’m not comfortable with something too enclosed because of the coyotes in the area. I don’t want him to be a sitting duck. I’ll try to find a box or something that will work.
If it gets real cold over the winter, I’ll put him in the garage at night. There’s one vent from the central unit that blows hot/cold air in there so it doesn’t get too uncomfortable winter or summer.

I’m sure he’s going to be happy with whatever you rig up for him. He seems to be very easy to please. He’s a sweetie

Guess I’d better go. It’s 2am here which means it’s 3am at home. Got to quit staying up on this time zone. LOL! See ya tomorrow!

He’s a very easy cat to please. I don’t think the people who dumped him paid much attention to him and they didn’t take good care of him. He was filthy, was loaded with fleas and had bald spots from scratching, and his ears are full of ear mites. He’s cleaned up now, the bald spots are filling in since I got rid of his fleas, but I’m still dealing with those mites. They’re hard to kill, especially when there are so many.

He wants lovin’ more than food when I feed him and I give him some. That pleases him more than anything so I figure he got little of it wherever he lived before.
Some lovin’, food, and water and he’s a happy ol’ feller. Very easy to please.

Your schedule is going to be out of whack by the time you get home. LOL

I’m shutting down early tonight/this morning since I was up way past my usual bedtime yesterday morning watching Sally roar in. This morning, it’s early to bed.

Have a great day with the crew. I know time’s running short and you’ll be heading back home soon.

Even the young people love Classic Rock. My nephew did songs by the Dead, Tom Petty, CCR, Dylan, The Band, and even Bill Withers.

It was a most validating and enjoyable evening.

Absolutely!

And I am hearing impaired, so I can’t even read people’s lips!

I’m teaching in person, but I’m also assisting another class online. How that assistance is going to go, or what it’ll look like is yet to be determined.

"It’s amazing what a “whole” face can tell you. Covering it decreases any attempt at friendliness."

That's so true, Kathy.   All of our facial, non-verbal communication skills are covered up.   While it's true that "things aren't always as they seem", and, "you can't judge a book by its cover", it is also true that all these hidden facial expressions, block out many clues which might at least indicate whether a person has good, friendly intentions, or if they're a hate-filled, homicidal maniac from antifa or blm, with very bad intentions.

These days, we can't offer friendliness with smiles, or hand shakes, or in-person hugs, only with weird elbow-to-elbow bumps, and I somehow don't that is quite as effective at demonstrating friendliness.

"And I am hearing impaired, so I can’t even read people’s lips!"

That's rough.   You have no idea, then, what the heck they are saying back there behind their lip-blocking masks.   That's even worse!

That's another good reason why we should all "take them off"!

(By the way, can you understand these "sign language interpreters" they're all using, and did you happen to see this thread the other day, where Joe Biden totally confused his sign language interpreter with the gibberish he was saying?)

My BIL is a Sign-Language Interpreter.

I sent him the video of the guy in Africa “interpreting” for Obama.

Hilarity ensured.

Army Veteran recalls his time as POW during Vietnam - VAntage Point

https://www.blogs.va.gov/VAntage/79008/army-veteran-recalls-time-pow-vietnam/

Capture

Harker and his company were on patrol when they broke contact with the enemy in a creek bed. The North Vietnamese unloaded on the unit and killed two men. As the most forward man, Harker was pinned down.

“I’m thinking, ‘I’m going to die.’ Top is behind me telling me to switch to auto and fire. They tried to get behind us and eventually I hear a Vietnamese voice and do a 90 degree and within arm’s reach at the top of this creek bank is an NVA soldier with a pith helmet and Top is there with no helmet. There’s a guy with a rifle telling me to get up. The NVA are stripping everything off us – anything they can use. I tried to bury my M-16 in the creek bed but I think they got it.”

After being taken, Harker was left with a soldier with a sidearm who walked in front of him, leading him away from the creek.
