MONTPELIER, Vt. — Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, praised Vermont's ongoing response to the coronavirus pandemic while also urging continued caution among residents.

"This should be the model for the country — how you've done it," Fauci said during a briefing with state leaders Tuesday, "Notwithstanding that this is a small state, but it should be the model of how you get to such a low test positivity that you can actually start opening up the economy in a safe and prudent way."

Fauci credited Vermonters for following public health guidelines presented by the Scott administration, citing it as a driving factor in maintaining some of the lowest reported numbers in the country.

There are only 660,000 people in Vermont!!!!

Bucks County PA has 700,000 folks!

Fauci is more demented than Biden.

I have been to Vermont and Virginia in past couple of weeks and I did not see any difference in what each state was doing.

It’s not going to end either. They have “postponed” the 2021 National Stock Show and Rodeo until 2022. This one of the biggest deals in the whole livestock industry. It kicks off the season. I’ve had about enough of this BS. I’m seventy and want to have a life, not be stuck on the farm for the rest of my days. I think I’ll go look for a rattler, I need to kill something.

“NY is below 1% and still not open”

Testing once the rate falls that low is just for show. No useful information comes from it.
It’s stupid and wasteful- except for fake media stories.

If I wasn’t such a fan of federalism I’d have the feds stop those tests and send the testing to areas with higher rates because they need tests.

Disappointing that Fauxi’s remarks encourage such useless waste of tests.

Denton county, TX has that many in a 30 mile by 30 mile area. Useless to compare Vermont to other states.

My grandaughter lives in South Dakota. My wife lived there when we met. When I first visited there it was the first time in my life I experienced 74 degrees one day and 26 the next. I was wearing shorts and no jacket in 26 degree weather. I had no idea that could happen.
