Since Ohio doesn't really register by party like other states, we have to do a bit of detective work to determine who is registering to vote. Kentucky does register voters by party so I figured that these 3 relatively large Northern Kentucky counties that border Hamilton County, Ohio would give us an idea of what's going on in Hamilton County. This I presume is not perfect but I suspect there is some validity to this method. So here are the voter registration totals for these 3 counties from July and August 2020.
8/01/20:
DEM registered voters in all 3 counties: 120,829
REP registered voters in all 3 counties: 161,298
9/01/20:
DEM registered voters in all 3 counties: 120,911 (+82)
REP registered voters in all 3 counties: 163,171 (+1873)
Again this is one month of changes in 3 Northern Kentucky counties that border Cincinnati but nonetheless the data appears to be somewhat meaningful. How similar or dissimilar these counties are to Hamilton would be also be very helpful.
Important? Pertinent?
Yes. Good move! And Ohio is crucial to the presidents reelection effort, so this is a good sign. Thank you.
Its NOT new. Been that way since at least 1984 but probably a lot longer than that...
The Northern Kentucky counties, Boone, Kenton, and Campbell, are about as conservative as you will find. A combination of pro-life German Catholics and conservative Baptists/Evangelicals. Since the City of Cincinnati, which used to be Republican, has fled to the suburbs, these numbers tell us something about the collar counties around Cincy,e.g. Butler County. Kentucky has been locked down hard by the beta male Democrat governor Beshear.
Thanks. That’s helpful.
Ok good to know. Website only shows data back to January 2017.
Looks great... however, I would love to know Ohio’s party numbers...
Yes wouldn’t we all.
“Yes wouldnt we all.”
Yes we would. Can you get right on that?
You know, scan facebook pages of OH residents to see how they lean...
I think Ohio is safe for Trump. You data fits into that view.
I don’t know why polls haven’t been better there.
During 2016, whenever something negative about Trump would hit the airwaves, Trump’s poll numbers would go down. I don’t think his support really fell, its that his supporters were less likely to talk to pollsters.
Haha!
No, Northern Kentucky is not at all similar to Hamilton County. Cincinnati is much more urban.
Looks to be similar to the counties in Ohio surrounding Hamilton though

Ohio is mostly a red state. The problem is in Cuyahoga county.
