Since medical professional working at their trade have worn masks for decades, there is a reason. The masks protect the patient and the medic
For a journalist to write such an article proves he is balthering about a subject in which he has no real knowledge. He is purveying garbage to earn his daily bread

Having worked in the medical profession and hospitals for years, I can tell you that the masks worn by medical professionals are used to stop much larger germs and bacteria, not inert viruses.
Even they know that viruses are too small for a mask to have any protective effect.
Masks are worthless to stop sub-microscopic viruses, even the ones medical people wear.

The current mask mandates and guidelines are idiotic, and are creating portable bacterial labs.

They wear masks to prevent the spread of bacteria.
Which is an entirely different thing.
You might as well say medical professionals have worn scrubs and uniforms for decades and so that will stop viruses.
