For my father-in-law in dementia, 1939 was his go-to year. It was a wonderful year — in his mind. Why 1939: I’ll never understand that, as it basically sucked.
I think it is simply familiarity with the year/number.
Think about it, in our lifetimes what single year has been mentioned more than any other?
