Bernie Sanders privately worrying about Joe Biden's campaign: report
Fox News ^ | 09/13/2020 | Brie Stimson

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders has privately voiced worries about the way Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has been campaigning as the race heads into its final weeks, according to a report.

Sanders, who dropped out of the race in April and immediately endorsed Biden following a hard-fought Democratic primary battle last spring, has said he wishes Biden would focus more on kitchen table issues like higher wages, job growth and health care access in campaign stops rather than criticizing President Trump, the Washington Post reported, citing three sources familiar with his conversations. […]

The independent senator from Vermont also believes Biden’s centrist rather than progressive approach could lead to another Democratic loss, the sources said. Still, some of Biden’s policies have undoubtedly moved farther to the left as the Democratic Party continues to become more progressive. […]

“Senator Sanders is confident that Joe Biden is in a very strong position to win this election, but nevertheless feels there are areas the campaign can continue to improve upon,” Sanders’ former campaign manager Faiz Shakir said in a statement to the Post. “He has been in direct contact with the Biden team and has urged them to put more emphasis on how they will raise wages, create millions of good-paying jobs, lower the cost of prescription drugs and expand health care coverage.” …

“ Actually the minimum wage should be raised. It is a hot issue and the R’s would do well to take it off the table with their own proposal to raise the minimum wage..”

Want to take an issue off the table? Republicans should announce that they are now “pro choice.” And the next statement should be, “and we choose life.”

That statement will destroy the rat party for good.

“...the R’s would do well to take it off the table with their own proposal to raise the minimum wage..”

And demonstrate to people that the “real minimum wage” is $0.

To the Trotskyites, the Stalinists were centrists.

Joe can't focus on anything, he's lost in the brier patch. His campaign is more worried about the type of diaper to put on him that will be least likely to leak or make crinkle noises.

Actually the minimum wage should be raised. It is a hot issue and the R’s would do well to take it off the table with their own proposal to raise the minimum wage..

You're a good freeper and a good guy, but you're (somewhat) wrong here. Federal mandates cannot counter market forces, that's the part you are wrong. However, the part you are right is that it's probably good -- if totally meaningless -- politics.

Knowing the democrats, I’m sure they have a dozen or so concocted “scandals” ready and waiting to be released to the media between now and Nov 3. They tried saying he hates the military; they said he didn’t care about cv19. I don’t know what they will release next, but it’s all they have.

Or do they? Will they make up something so big, and so bad, and so unbelievable that there will be no way to fact-check it before Nov 3?

When the minimum wage goes up, it tends to become the maximum wage too at some level. What happens to businesses that can’t afford to pay an artificially-high minimum wage? Look at San Francisco and Seattle from a few years back.

And as for the Republicans imitating Democrats, see my tagline.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Most reasonable people think the minimum age is a good idea. Especially in this age where we are experiencing destabilizing massive amounts of legal and illegal immigration. Look at the historical data an you will see there is no correlation between raising the minimum wage and unemployment. None.

There are 150 million wage earners in the USA. I would trade that constituency for the 4 million small ( minded ) business owners, and 2 million farmers with a rapacious need for cheep labor.

Yes, indeed you show what the post WWII Republicans have become. Now it’s tax income ( labor ), reduce tariffs to almost zero and put US workers in direct competition with 3rd worlders, support massive legal immigration and want to lower the minimum wage to zero. Yes, this is the ticket to a majority party. /sarcasm
