I do appreciate his enthusiasm for where he lives and his points are all good ones about the governor, but after three days in Las Vegas I’m like “get me out of here!” Showing my age, I know.
The cigarette smoke in the hotels above the casinos was enough for me to want to bail after a day.
Vegas is fine in small doses, and three days is about my limit, too. After that, it just feels like you wear a grime and the only cleanser is to leave.
When we lived in SoCal, we went to Las Vegas (I refuse to refer to it as just Vegas) at least once a year. It was a fun getaway and we could see shows and enjoy. Then I noticed (probably around 2001-2002) the people walking on the Strip were more and more heavily tattooed and rough looking. Crime started increasing and it was no longer a fun getaway. We now live within 5 hours of the town and havent been in several years. The only thing I have missed is The Beatles Love at the Mirage. We have seen it 4 times and I would love to see it again, but other than that I have no desire to visit Las Vegas anymore.
Ive always felt that way, even in my youth.
Three days max.
If you live in the outskirts and arent on the strip. Its probably tolerable.
