They (Tom Jones & Engelbert Humperdinck) were also considered part of that "blue-eyed soul" movement.

For your British thread, I had just wanted to add that British (Eric Clapton) version of "Good Night Irene" too.   The other version I posted in this thread was from Nashville.   (On the other hand, the song I posted - "Tobacco Road" - was by a group called "The Nashville Teens", who were actually British!)

I know this thread is heading into its sunset phase, but, in this political season, I just want to add one more British song here.
