As the United States heads into flu season, Americans can't let up in the fight against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Dr. Anthony Fauci said Thursday.
Although the number of new daily cases of coronavirus in the U.S. has slowly been declining, the country is still closing in on 200,000 deaths from COVID-19 and more than 6 million confirmed infections.
“We need to hunker down and get through this fall and winter because it’s not going to be easy,” Fauci said.
Fauci also spoke about the COVID-19 vaccine trials and the possibility of post-Labor Day surges, noting that as one region in the U.S. gets it under control, another hot spot emerges — and that spikes inevitably appear whenever states lift social distancing restrictions.
“It’s really quite frankly depressing to see that because you know what's ahead,” he said.
Fauci’s sobering comments about the need for doctors and scientists to approach COVID-19 with “humility” came a day after President Donald Trump was heard in an audio clip acknowledging in February that he had minimized the seriousness of the pandemic.
“I still like playing it down because I don’t want to create a panic,” Trump said a month later in a call with the journalist Bob Woodward, according to the clip on The Washington Post’s website. Trump has been criticized for his response to the virus.

I had a close friend who was not that lucky. Just over 20 years ago, he got married to a woman who was about as hardcore a liberal as you could get. If you even mentioned George Bush in her house, she'd want to throw you out of there. She literally cried when Al Gore was denied the election victory.
Now my friend was a pretty conservative guy but he was not allowed to speak politics in her presence unless it aligned with her ideology. Slowly over time, my friend allowed himself to get hen-pecked to the extent that he gave up discussing his politics around her completely. One of the last times I saw him was around the 2016 election at a barbecue. Even though he was voting for Trump, he made me promise not to talk about it in front of his wife, because he already told her he was voting for Hillary - in order to keep the peace in the house.
Now that's no way for a man to live.
Fauci and his co-conspirators have killed tens of thousands of people with their HCQ numbers are annecdotal.

So I guess this means that any standard influenza virus that anyone gets is now going to be classified as Covid-19.?
And since the normal case rate of the flu is what 40+ Million people, that’s a lot of “new” Covid cases for lock downs and closures.

For the exact reason we see in the comments in this and other sites...Fauci is no longer a factor and continues to embarrass himself and the shed light on the inconsistencies and overt power grabs by those against liberty. Having Fauci show up in the media several times a month with a different story each time is gold. Also, imagine if Trump fired him during a “pandemic”...though red meat for the base, the optics would not be helpful for those that are on the fence between POTUS and the sleepy one.

The Swedes did it right. They did not lock down. They did protect those with comorbidity problems and the aged. They did not send covid positive patients to nursing homes like Coumo did in New York. Sweden has achieved herd immunity and the disease is dying in Sweden.
Sweden did not destroy their economy. The per capita death rate in Sweden is the average for Europe. However, new deaths in Sweden are very low as it continues to rage in the rest of Europe. Death now in Sweden are a fraction of the rest of Europe. When this is over and death rates in the rest of Europe continue Sweden will have one of the lowest death rates in Europe.
The Swedish model was as follows:
1. Protect and isolate those at high risk.
2. Actually encourage the disease in the healthy. When enough of the healthy have the disease, herd immunity is achieved and the disease dies out in the population.
That is what the Swedes did and it worked! It would work here also. Fauci knows this. Fauci also knows HCQ works but is against it. He advocated it during the SARs epidemic some years back. Covid shares over 80% of the genome as SARs.
Fauci is a political Charlatan with a political mission to destroy Donald Trump and cares not how much damage and death he causes. He is a very evil man and a liar. He knows his actions have cost many lives.
If one looks at many third world nations where HCQ is used at onset of Symptoms the death rate is a fraction of ours. India is the perfect example of this. They have widespread use of HCQ there. Considering population density and medical facilites the disese should be raging through India. It is not! Fauci knows this!
India has a mortality rate of 56 per million people. USA has a mortality rate of 584 per million people. Fauci’s actions in opposing HCQ is responsible for about 90% of the Covid deaths in the USA. He has no soul.
