Vice presidential hopeful Kamala Harris had an awkward moment during a campaign event in Wisconsin, describing the state as “part of her story,” while avoiding reporters.

The moment happened during an in-person campaign event Monday with black, Milwaukee-based business leaders when the state’s Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes tried to turn the microphone over to her to take questions from the press.

Harris had already given remarks on the “dignity of work,” a theme of the campaign, and Barnes figured the vice presidential hopeful would be answering questions as reporters bemoan a lack of access to Harris and her running mate, presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Slavery in one form or another has been a human social institution for all of recorded history. The issue has been whether it was “soft” like household maids or “hard” like building the pyramids. And whether short term ( biblically 7 years indenture) or lifetime like in several other societies. Today It is lifetime in USA, they use payroll withholding.

She claims she briefly lived there as a girl, parents taught marxism or something at U of Wisconsin.

The question was “why Harris picked Wisconsin as her first state to visit in-person after being selected as VP.”

The answer is

A) She didn’t pick it, Biden’s campaign manager did

B) Because it’s probably the closest state, duh. No one cares that she spent 5 minutes there once.

Nah - she played doctor with her teacher’s son to try to get better grades in elementary school...

And she answers as many questions as senile Joe - pretty bad when a campaign is afraid to put either candidate in front of the public.
