Probe found ex-FBI leader in Albany sexually harassed 8 employees

A former special agent in charge of the FBI's Albany field office was the subject of a scathing internal investigation that found he sexually harassed eight subordinate employees and created a hostile work environment for another employee with whom he had an intimate relationship...But under a policy of not identifying individuals against whom sexual harassment allegations are sustained, the former FBI official, James N. Hendricks, was not named in the report issued in May by the Justice Department's Office of the Inspector General. The Times Union was able to independently confirm that Hendricks was the subject of the investigation.

That is also the case with similar inspector general's reports sustaining sexual harassment allegations against Justice Department officials, including high-ranking members of the FBI, U.S. attorneys office and federal Bureau of Prisons. Many of those unnamed officials, according to the reports, retired in the midst of the internal investigations....

An earlier statement provided ... by the FBI's national press office said, "We appreciate you reaching out, but we do not have a comment for you. As you know, former SAC Hendricks is no longer with the FBI. You may wish to reach out to him directly."

Hendricks, 50, left his job at the FBI earlier this year. He could not be reached for comment, and the terms of his departure from the FBI are unclear. He was appointed head of the Albany field office in July 2018, after serving as a section chief for a Weapons of Mass Destruction unit at FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Rats and almost all Republicans, yes, you too, Trey, for six years, let FraudCo do whatever FraudCo wanted.

I think only Trump’s personal security detail is keeping Trump and his family alive.

“He later became a member of the Evidence Response Team that responded to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack at the Pentagon, where he served as a team leader of the FBI’s evidence recovery mission.”

Just when you think the KGB, excuse me FBI, can’t sink any lower, they do. They have sunk so low, even a slithering snake is higher than they are.

His guilt is not yet proven, but the fact that he quit that good job with the FBI is significant. One does not leave a Dream Job with the FBI over small stuff. He was with them for over 20 years. Maybe that means he now qualifies for the CIA.
What they call a ‘lateral promotion’.

There was a period in my work career, between about 1979 and 1990 where it seemed sexually harassing underlings was almost a requirement for higher office. It almost seemed that department managers felt as if they weren’t considered “men” if they didn’t have at least one affair. Along about 1990 the “style” changed and I saw less of it. But people who came up in the ranks during those bad-old days probably internalized what the upper level people were doing and saw it as “normal.” From the 90’s on, I never allowed an employee to close my door for fear of being named in a suit. With some employees I made certain to never be alone with them.

Things done at work definitely are considered fashions. For example, men who were engineers in the fifties often had a bottle of hooch and a couple of glasses in their file cabinets or bottom desk drawer. Smoking at the desk or elevator was just fine. As these people retired I saw less and less of that behavior. Drugs became the thing, with lower lever people, including professionals, going out to their car to smoke marihuana or even meth. By the time I retired I didn’t see any of that. Unfortunately, the pendulum had swung too far the other way. We had to sign “ethics” statements that forbad things like private conversations or telling jokes. (Because, OMG! You have NO idea who you might offend!!!)

I suspect in a few years that it won’t be enough to not disapprove of LGBTQ people. You will be required to have a certified LGBTQ verify that you had sex with them. Otherwise, you won’t be allowed to have a higher level job. People who are married will be required to have the LGBTQ sex certificate to ensure they aren’t prejudiced.

Were there any law suites for harassment? Seems odd, if true, based on today’s litigious society.
