The University of Rhode Island recently announced plans to remove two murals depicting the events of World War II due to their lack of diversity. The decision was prompted after students complained that the mural was not compatible with the university’s values of inclusivity. According to the school’s Vice President of Student Affairs, “Some of our students have even shared with us they didn’t feel comfortable sitting in that space.”

To be fair a lot of Asians also fought in WW2.......just for the other side.

University of Michigan instituted segregation.
They have “non-poc” and “bipoc” rooms.
“Non-poc” is fir whitey.
“Bipoc” is “black, indigenous, people of color”.
Never hire or elect University of Rhode Island graduates.

I recall an article on public Ivies about thirty years ago, and students at URI (not considered a public Ivy) referred to it as “High school after high school”.

During the Civil War the Union Army did just that. They used the black troops to use up the Confederate ammunition in Florida, the Carolinas and at Petersburg. At Brices' Crossroads the black troops bailed out the Union Army; if it hadn't been for two regiments of black troops, Forrest would have bagged the whole army.
