I certainly can’t blame them, as this country descends into anarchy.

when the momentum of collapse crosses the Event Horizon, it no longer matters who claims the title of Head Snake; the collapse is beyond the control of any individual or agency.

These cretins that are “fleeing” from the US to these mostly third-world little Caribbean countries are in for a big surprise once they’re there for a while. Mrs. Afterguard and I love the Caribbean and try to go to the Virgin Islands, either the USVI of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) as often as we can afford to. Our last trip was to the BVI late last year. Btu we can only stay for a few weeks because the Caribbean is not the USA. While the people are for the most part sweethearts, they tend to be very dismissive of Americans unless we are paying big money for a hotel or sailboat, or whatever. Even when they are being “nice” they seem to be disinterested and even a bit resentful. These are quite poor countries, their standards of living is two tiered; the top tier, hotel owners, restaurant owners, lawyers, successful business men, and the like are living as well or better than many folks here in the the US. The lower tier, the hotel workers, waitresses, cooks, menials, etc. ofter live in very rough conditions. Not always of course, but enough do to give the impression of real poverty. And there is plenty of crime. Not the kind of murderous crime that is common in big US cities, but theft and burglary are common. The punishments for these can be harsh, but from what we’ve seen, there isn’t much impetus for the police to do much about them. Regardless, like I said at first, we do love the Caribbean, it’s a beautiful place. It just can’t come close to approaching the beauty of home.

Just my $.02.

I believe it is just the general uncertainty of what will happen after the election, no matter who wins, that they are seeking safe harbor from.

People of means have that luxury of parking anywhere they can when times are unsettled until the dust clears.

The rest of us peons will have to ride out the turmoil right here at home.

The last place a person should go is to an island in times of trouble.

Now they will be confined and easy to get at.

Ask anyone who are still alive that are residents of the channel islands what happened during during ww2.

An island is a castle. Lay siege to it and they will starve.

Oh I’m not worried about what happens when Trump wins.

Right after the election all the Communist street gangs will stomped into oblivion. They’re just letting them run rampant right now to let the Rat party hang themselves. Running against the Rioter party is a lot more vivid then the Creepy Joe & the Ho show.

Who would “hide out” in the Caribbean? It is relatively crowded with high potential for civil unrest on pretty much all of the islands. Especially after major hurricanes.

They are a tinderbox for racial violence and economic collapse will follow the mainlands once tourist money stops.

I guess it’s a beautiful place to stay and work remotely but not a hideout by any means. Unless you have a private island and the security to keep it that way...

No. It is a lot of people working from home and being told “this is through the end of the year” taking up new “telecommute worker” visas being offered by these countries. Work abroad for the same pay rate, and live in paradise for a few months ... or longer.
