Postal Service Report: police block Florida congresswoman from touring USPS plants.U.S. Postal Service police officers barred a Florida congresswoman from scheduled tours at two mail-processing complexes Friday, blocking entry to the facilities and threatening to escort her from the property if she refused to leave.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) had arrived at the Royal Palm Processing and Distribution Center in Opa-Locka, Fla., for a 4 a.m. tour to find the parking lot entry roped off with caution tape and a U.S. Postal Inspection Service cruiser blocking the gate. Local Postal Service officials informed her and union leaders waiting to accompany her into the building that national USPS leadership had directed them to bar the group from the building. At 6:30 a.m., Wasserman Schultz was denied entry at the Miami Processing and Distribution Center 10 miles away by a local Postal Service official as two armed Postal Inspection Service officers stood in front of turnstiles in the lobby.
A congresswoman was barred from inspecting two U.S. Postal Service branches on Friday, with the federal agency claiming she did not give the post office enough advance notice before arriving at the locations. Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz showed up at USPS facilities in Florida's Opa-locka and Northwest Miami-Dade on Friday, intending to investigate reports from postal employees of considerable amounts of undelivered mail there.
Yet upon arrival, Wasserman Schultz was barred from accessing the distribution facilities, with agency police preventing her from entering both locations. At one location, the parking lot was blocked off by caution tape and a USPS police car; at another, armed guards in the lobby prevented the congresswoman from conducting her inspection. The post office later said in a statement that it hadn't been given enough notice before Wasserman Schultz's visit.
"We spoke with her staff to explain that we were unable to set up the tour on such short notice, but would be happy to accommodate her at another time," agency spokeswoman Kim Fuller told media on Friday. "We look forward to working with the Congresswoman and her staff to arrange a visit in the near future."
An aide with Wasserman Schultz's office, meanwhile, said that the congresswoman "[wasn't] asking for permission," and that the short notice of the visit was intentional. "I sit on the committee that has jurisdiction over the Postal Service," Wasserman Schulz said afterwards "Now they are not allowing a member of Congress to get a bird's eye view of what's going on so I can get to the bottom of this."

I am. Work at a P&DC which is full of undelivered mail. Like every P&DC...
amazing the human filth that can get elected, especially to the House, nowadays
Great. She sits on the committee.
Then maybe she’d like to explain to this fellow Dem why I never had serious USPS delivery issues until I became a Trump donor?
Care to explain THAT, Congresswoman....?
Let’s also consider the possibility that she wanted to make an offer they couldn’t refuse to a few postal workers to allow a few boxes of fraudulent ballots to somehow mysteriously appear in their trucks on Election Day.
Don't you know who I AM!!!
Allowing the DNC servers to be hacked and then not allowing the FBI to inspect was not a good career move.
“WHY at 4:30 AM???? “
I suspect the middle of the night would be the time when they have the most amount of “undelivered mail”.
Be careful using "cong" in your prefixes. It can trigger a bad Agent Orange response.
DWS once again displaying one of of her BRILLIANT deductions!
She isn’t smart enough to realize that she WASN’T dealing w/ the ‘Capitol Police” Force, she expected them to just turn over on her Word, like a True Rat does.
Maybe as a member of Congress, DWS assumes a MPC is not necessary. After all, in her habit of thinking, the most efficient way for a carrier to deliver mail would be to personally drive it to the places to which it is addressed.
Why isn’t she in prison?
My S-I-L works at a Privately run ICE Detention Center.
When her Company got the Contract, a bunch of Congressional Staff Members showed up to Inspect the place.
This was when a third world Illegal Invader said she was forced to drink from a Toilet at an ICE Facility, a damnable Lie. The Faucet and Sink are located on top of the Stainless Steel Toilet Unit, but the Third World Detainees can’t differentiate that it serves multiple purposes. My S-I-L has had to show them how it works, but a lot of these same People are used to defecating into Holes in the floor or anywhere it’s convenient.
The first day the DEMONcRAT Congressional Aides show up. They walked in and were flabbergasted when told they couldn’t bring their Cell Phones into the Facility, so they had to go back to their Cars and leave them there.
My S-I-L (who is a 75% reformed Liberal and big Trump Supporter now) said they all had a bad attitude. They came in looking for trouble and attempted to get into Conservations with the Detainees although they were told to observe, not get in the way. The funny part, none of them could speak Spanish.
The next day the GOP Congressional Aides showed up. They had a great attitude, didn’t get flabbergasted when told the rules and seemed very impressed with the Facility.
It was night and day.
Found out that some of the DEMONcRAT Aides worked for Members of the AOC Squad.
A processing center only handles undelivered mail. It is against USPS policy for the center to process delivered mail.
Mail may not be delivered until it is processed through the processing center. Only when it is processed and leaves the processing center may it be delivered. There is
NO delivered mail at the processing center.
I didn’t realize Debbie Wheresherbrain was still in Congre$$.
Thank you, you said it much more clearly than I had.
Ha, everyone knows why youre having problems with mail delivery now! Even DWS!
I think she got pwned.......
Teen Campaigning for D/W/S’s opponent Says She Was Shoved by Rep. Wasserman Schultz
BY JESSICA LIPSCOMB | AUGUST 17, 2020 | 8:05PM
Update, August 18: The Pembroke Pines Police Department has released its report summarizing 16-year-old Martina Velasquez’s complaint. Police spokesperson Amanda Conwell stated in an email: “The incident was changed from ‘Information’ to ‘Simple Assault’ but remains inactive due to the juvenile subject not wishing to prosecute at this time.” The full report is embedded at the bottom of this story.
BACKSTORY A 16-year-old campaign volunteer for a candidate challenging U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz in tomorrow’s Democratic primary says the congresswoman shoved her while she was trying to talk with voters outside a Broward County polling place on Saturday.
Martina Velasquez, a high school student involved in climate activism, tells New Times she was stumping for Jen Perelman, Wasserman Schultz’s progressive opponent, outside the Southwest Regional Library in Pembroke Pines. On three occasions that afternoon, Velasquez says, she was attempting to speak with voters or hand out so-called palm cards when Wasserman Schultz moved her body between Velasquez and the voters, making physical contact with Velasquez.
