Whenever this happens the governor’s mansion should also be without power. This is not because of an emergency or disaster it is from gross incompetence.

If the Green Power rolling blackouts don’t get you, the “PSPS” (Public Safety Power Shutoffs) shutoffs will!! Got you coming or going! My elderly Mom is right on the edge of a PSPS outage for tonight.

I wonder how much power the 1,100 or so residents of Alpine County in the Eastern Sierra on the Nevada border use?

Maybe they can get High-Stepping Hank, the Portland fire footer to come down and light up their streets.

Leftist break everything they touch. Those responsible should be ashamed. Those just living, working, and raising families in CA should be justifiably angry and should seek ways to do away with those responsible. It is absolutely, completely reasonable to expect to have electricity in 2020. This isn’t Venezuela.

These particular blackouts aren’t because of ack of power supply/electricity, they’re because of the danger of forest fire igniting or being ignited by PG&E’s power lines.

So it’s a problem created by the lack of tree thinning and forest management that has made California’s forests a tinder box

Gavin Newsom and his followers should get out there and spin the wind turbines by hand and shine their flashlights on the solar panels at night.

These particular blackouts are result of poor forest management/lack of logging, not power shortages

A HUGE windstorm blew through the Idaho Panhandle and eastern Washington today due to the big cold front blowing down from Canada into Montana and Wyoming. Our power went out at 8:30 am. Avista's outage map shows scores (maybe well over 100) of power outages all over the inland empire. Two huge pine trees on our neighbor's property snapped off, one about 10 feet above the ground and another about 2/3 of the way up, coming quite close to our house.

The Avista crews are top-notch and got our power back on after just ten hours of outage. They had to restore transmission and distribution damage first, then restore hospitals and other public safety installations before getting to the residential outages. They did amazing work getting us back on.

It infuriates me that Avista as bought into the global warming and renewables bull crap. I wonder how long it will be before our system is as bad as the California system.

Unfortunately, our Pro Shop took a beating today...

Many thousands are still without power or housing in Louisiana and East Texas because of hurricane Laura - not much in the news about these poor (literally) folks.

Also, big insurance companies were able through lobbyists to enact hybrid deductibles, which tremendously favor the insurance companies over the insured for losses from a "named storm" in nineteen hurricane-prone states.

For example, if someone had a 5% deductible, they must have damages above 5% of their home's value before the insured gets a single dime from the insurance company. For a home valued at $350,000 (home value usually exaggerated), $17,500 becomes the deductable.
