This weekend, downtown DCs St. Johns Church will have local artists paint racial justice-themed murals on the plywood panels that were installed during the George Floyd protests. St. Johns is located on Black Lives Matter Plaza, and served as the backdrop for Donald Trumps infamous bible photo op this June.
Artists will be painting the murals at the church this Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM. The public is invited to join a dedication prayer service beforehand, and to stop by throughout the day to watch the painters work. Attendees can also add art of their own by contributing messages of hope, love, and inspiration to prayer wall canvasses on the H Street side of the church.

But this is to get in President Trump’s face for daring to use their burnt church as a backdrop. That really bothered them more than the fire.
Why on plywood?
The plywood was installed on the doors/windows after the church was torched.
The article does not say who named it ‘black lives matter square’ or when it was renamed that, do you or any freepers know?
This is like if a chick gets raped and then has rapist’s name tattooed on her cleavage.
Is that Che Guevara?
Black Lives Matter Plaza? Is that the new name of Lafayette Park? When I went to high school in Washington, I was told it was a queer hangout.
DC mayor Muriel Bowser renamed it on June 5, 2020.
I don’t think it’s Lafayette Square per se; I believe it’s the street that is between I Street and H Street right in front of Lafayette Square. 16th Street NW was the old name of the street.
I have a racial justice idea obey the law and cooperate with the police.
