Needs to be repeated until it sinks in: The year 2020 will go down in history as a historic calamity. But this was not because COVID-19 struck (deadly respiratory viruses have existed as long as humans have), but because central planners erroneously believed the best way to protect humanity from an invisible respiratory virus was to order healthy people to remain in their homes under almost all conditions, in many cases under threat of fine or imprisonment.

Face it. The pattern that COVID-19 is following is not unlike most other pandemics for which there was no definitive treatment or vaccine such as the Spanish Flu. The susceptible eventually, despite the best efforts at isolation, become infected. They either remain asymptomatic, sicken to some extent and possibly die. This is a very bad virus. A vaccine is desperately needed. Many people won’t beleive it and will refuse to accept the observation that the much ridiculed Russian vaccine just might be working and has not caused any serious side effects.

Making us 33x larger in population.
Not a good comparison.
If they compared one of our states threat have about the same population, that would be a better comparison.

Uh, no. I disagree. However, with a minor correction I would concur:

"A vaccine for the vulnerable at-risk of complications is desperately needed."

Tin-hat stuff aside, this virus culls the population of the sick, infirm & elderly >life expectancy. We now know this. The fear promoted by CCP propaganda and swamp creatures in the U.S. will be a very hard nut to crack indeed.

There’s a reason vaccines aren’t approved for years and years...after hundreds of thousands of human trials. Take a vaccine after six months and you just might up with something a lot more serious than covid19; and worse, it might not show up for 10 years.

This virus is a very bad actor even in people who have had mild symptoms and have “recovered”. Just beginning to appreciate the long term impairment of pulmonary function and the observation that up to 70% of the infected have some degree of myocarditis.Long term significance is not known. Personally will take a vaccine as soon as one is approved by the FDA. Also not adverse to objectively monitoring what is really happening with the Russian vaccine and keeping an open mind. Don’t underestimate this virus.

Seems to me that the covid infection ratios are more less the same everywhere. Some places got it in the beginning, some later, some are still getting it. The whole quarantine just delayed the inevitable!

Exactly...you make special arraignments for...give special advice to...and perhaps even quarantine...VULNERABLE individuals and groups,not the healthy,less vulnerable ones.

If the same policy had been enacted during the AIDS "crisis" we would have destroyed the economy to save a few faggots.Of course old folks are far more valuable than fags but I,as an "old folk",say better to sacrfice me than to destroy the small business of a 40 year old that he's worked to build since he was 15.
