You are correct.
Basically since I came on FR years ago, I set up an automatic monthly donation check.
Somehow Laz and I got into running a fundraiser.
Between Laz’s craziness and my newness we got it finished in about a week.
My church, grandkids, Salvation Army and FR get a monthly check that is automatically generated.
And still micro-spaced, kerned, and superscripted... a form of type on type writers that did not exist in 1973 National Guard offices, and not even on specialized IBM typewriters that could do Kerning and superscripting, but were not micro-spaced. That was reserved for typesetting machines and hot-lead typesetters. No one would use any of those for a memo.
I remember during the “DC Sniper” incident, when the media was going with the snipers being a pair of white guys, somebody posted a communication from the sniper containing the odd phrase “Word is Bond”, and within a few minutes FReepers had tied that to a Nation of Islam group.
The parody, “The Palm Beach Pokey” was first published here on FR and was penned by our own (Rev.) Charles Henrickson.
Rush read it on the air the next day.

Some of us knew about the left wing former chief of police from Portland as left wing liar. We didn’t trust his B$ about 2 white guys. Turned out to be 2 ahead of their time BLMers.
Clovis Skeptic found out that the Muslims were running terrorist training ground posing as a religious school.
We were ridiculed as idiots and then that “school” magically disappeared when it was investigated. Turned out that they had these “schools” in Oregone, Virginia an other states.
He also appeared at a DC freeper event dressed as Saddam Hussein and all the tourists on the mall were having their picture taken with him.

That is exactly how I found FR. I saw a sign with Free Republic during the hanging chad protests.
And the rest is history. I could not get enough of FR, but only lurked for about a year. Then after 9-11 I got to meet the Fresno FR group.
Jim Robinson is my hero. He is a man of honor and integrity. It is an honor to meet and to know him, his family, and numerous long time FRiends.

What DOES matter is that this amazing site speaks truth to evil every single day, has been my friend when I had few, and has kept me relatively sane while our country has become increasingly less so.
Though 'thank you very much' isn't nearly enough, those heartfelt words along with my modest monthly donation will have to suffice, I suppose.

I'm guessing that much of it will be news to many - even to some of our 'regulars'.
Ya know, most all of my 'autumn' years were spent relying on this site to stay informed of the national reality of things, and I gotta thank whatever God might be for that having been the case.
With any luck, I hope to have a few 'winter' years ahead with which to continue trying the Mods' patience ;-)
