I have hopes for my son. He voted for the Libertarian last time at least, not Clinton. He’s just an. . .idealist.
I warned him—now that he’s living in the South for the first time—to NOT tell true Southerners he meets that he’s from the SF Bay Area—they will recoil in horror! (That actually happened to me in Kentucky once). I advised him to tell them he’s from “Central CA” where he most recently lived.
The leftists who control the NBA and NCAA were going to boycott North Carolina and support the freak show of having transvestite "men" use women's bathrooms, and that threat to NC's economy is what got Democrat Cooper elected. That bill was repealed by the frightened Republican legislature a few months after Cooper took office.
There's a good chance he will be re-elected easily in November, or at least there's no evidence to the contrary right now.
I’m in the unaffiliated group...but you know who I’m voting for...MAGA!
Excellent work Ravi. Keep it up.
And, don’t forget the other 50 states.
Similar thing happened here in KY except it was toll bridges here. Unforced error by an otherwise good GOP guv and now were stuck with a COVID Karen demonrat guv who along with our equally pathetic demonrat mayor are letting the communists destroy downtown Louisville...
Most NC governors have been Democrat since the year 1900. The first Republican governor was not elected until 1972. But Republicans have done well in some U.S. Senate races. Their best ever was the five terms of Jesse Helms.
“Anyone know if theyre doing mail in ballots?”
Yes they are. 600.000 ballots mailed out yesterday. It’s a big military state and I’m sure the Atlantic report was timed to that mail out.
Because the dumb @ss republican gov running for reelection thought it would be a great idea to introduce toll roads to one of the most powerful GOP strongholds in the state and piss them all off.
They found votes in Durham. Surprisingly they were Dem votes.
Lots of Yankees moving to Raleigh and Charlotte. Like most states, cities attract Marxist Moonbats. Western NC is very conservative (except Asheville... another city).
Rat “winner” Roy Cooper was the most popular rat in the state and ran ahead of the rest of the ticket. GOP Governor McCrory had problems, specifically the “tranny bathroom bill” that pissed off business groups.
Unfortunately, Cooper is polling way ahead of the rest of the rat ticket this year and is headed to victory again.
Cooper was elected in 2016 because the polls in Durham County, one of the most Democrat and "diverse" counties in the state, were kept open long after they should have closed due to "equipment problems" until the votes from the counties where the incumbent Republican governor was expected to do well had been tabulated. That way, Cooper knew how many votes he needed to win the election. I could not believe what was happening before my very eyes in the state that I had lived in all of my life!
Cooper has been a terrible governor! He is extremely partisan and has acted as a virtual dictator during the pandemic. I sincerely hope that he will be defeated in November, but he is currently ahead in the polls. His opponent is a strong conservative, but is not a very charismatic candidate.
Its the block voting of Blacks and Hispanics, Hispanics are now up to 10% of N Carolina voters, the white liberal is somewhat of a myth. Blacks are 22% of the state voted 93% against Trump (that is like starting a game to 50 with the other team getting a 20 to 2 lead), Hispanics not as bad at 72% but they may be the key
Just look at the states won by Trump,he won 32 states but only 4 have a population of Hispanic voters over 13%. Clinton by contrast won 28 states and only 5 had a Hispanic population of under 13%.
Change in Active Registered Voters in Nash from 9/10/16 to 9/05/20:
DEMS DOWN 2432
REPS UP 685
UNAFFILIATEDS UP 3037 It is only one medium sized county but might be the closest thing to a swing county in NC. The changes noted above are interesting.
Yep that looks positive.
When this election is all done, I think people are going to look back at the DEM VBM drive as a mistake. VBM has a much higher “error” rate that in person voting.
In a close election in NC / FL, the VBM errors are going to add up.
