The president, who describes himself as the best friend ever of India and Indian Americans in the White House.
The First Family of the United States is in love with India, US President Donald Trump indicated as he noted that both his daughter Ivanka and son Donald Trump Jr along with Kimberly Guilfoyle think a lot about India and so does he.
I know India and I understood those young people (Kimberly, Donald Trump Jr and Ivanka) that you mentioned. Theyre very good young people. And I know their relationship to India is very good and so is mine, Trump told reporters at the White House.
The president, who describes himself as the best friend ever of India and Indian Americans in the White House, was responding to a question about the role the three important members of his family are going to play this election cycle along with respect to the Indian American community.
Would Kimberly, Donald Trump Jr., and Ivanka Trump, who are very popular among Indian Americans, would be campaigning on your behalf among the Indian Americans with your views on India-US relationship? the president was asked.
I appreciate the nice sentiments. They think (Kimberley, Don Jr and Ivanka) a lot of India and so do I. And think a lot of your prime minister (Narendra Modi), Trump said in response to the question.
In the 2016 elections, the Trump family had reached out to the Indian American community, particularly in the battleground states of Virginia, Pennsylvania and Florida where both Ivanka, and Donald Trump Jr along with his other son Eric and daughter-in-law Lara Trump held meetings with the community members and visited Hindu temples.
Ivanka, was the first member of the Trump family to make a trip to India after Trump came to power. She led a high-powered US delegation to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in India in 2017.
Ivanka, frequently tweets about issues related to India. Having a star appeal in India, Ivanka is also special advisor to the president.
Donald Trump Jr, who is heading the re-election campaign, has also made trips to India. Last December he held a special book-launch event for Indian American community in Long Island.
A Key Advantage in Battleground States Could Secure 2020 for Trump, Don Jr said in a tweet last month.
He along with his girlfriend Kimberley, who is national chair of Trump Victory Finance Committee, have been instrumental in the campaign maintaining a close relationship with Indian American community.
The two quite often tweet about the key role that the Indian American community can play in the battle ground states.
On Indias independence day on August 15, Donald Trump Jr had tweeted: Sending Best Wishes to India on its Independence Day. Grateful for all my friends there and my Indian-American friends here. Congratulations to India who is celebrating their 74th Independence Day and to all those Indian-Americans who now call the USA home. The bond between our countries is stronger than it has ever been as we share a deep appreciation for family, peace, and prosperity, Kimberly said in tweet greeting India on its Independence Day.
America enjoys a great relationship with India and our campaign enjoys great support from Indian Americans!, she said about a fortnight ago releasing the first video commercial of the Trump Campaign targeting Indian Americans.
Titled Four More Years, the 107 second video starts with the iconic footage of Modi and Trump walking hand in hand at the NRG Stadium in Houston during his visit to the US last year wherein the leaders of the two largest democracies of the world made their joint address before a strong crowd of Indian Americans numbering more than 50,000.
Amidst cheering of thousands of his supporters in the US, Modi is seen as saying that Trump needs no introduction and that his name comes up in almost every conversation. He is the president of the United States of America Mr Donald Trump, the prime minister says at the start of the video, that has been conceptualised by Al Mason, co-chair of the Trump Victory Indian American Finance Committee.
It is well known that Modi is highly popular among Indian Americans. His star appeal has attracted record crowd, hitherto unknown for a foreign leader, on the American soil.
Starting with his address at the Madison Square Garden in 2015 and then in the Silicon Valley two years later, both attracting more than 20,000 people, Modi is perhaps the only foreign leader in recent memory to have addressed such huge rallies in the US. His Howdy Modi address in Houston last September was attended by a record 50,000 people. Trump made a solo trip to Houston to join him in the addressing the historic rally.
While Modi introduces Trump to the crowd whom he addressed as my family, the second part of the commercial has clips form Trumps historic address in Ahmedabad this February.
America loves India. America respects India. And America will always be faithful and loyal friend to the Indian people, Trump is seen as saying in the commercial in which he praises the contribution of four million Indian Americans.
They are truly spectacular people, the president said.
I have some friends who are Indians that live in Hong Kong.
All I will say is, you ain’t seen filthy until you’ve seen India.
Joe Biden main contact with Indians is that Indians own 7-11 and Dunkin' Donut stores and you can't buy unless you mimic their accents.
Depends on location. But I tend to agree. Some Indian friends tell me it's bad in villages away from the cities. One told me that you can go to some villages and prostitution is rampant and nude girls are in abundance - I keep my distance from him.
We had an Indian doctor working at the prison I was an officer at back in the mid-80’s. He and his wife were very nice people, had me, and my then boyfriend over for dinner. First time I ever had Indian cuisine. It was delicious. The surgeon who took out my gall bladder in 2015 was Indian. He was a couple of years older than me, and a very nice man. He had actually assisted on a couple of my other surgeries, but I hadn’t been unaware of it. When the surgeon I originally had moved to Tennessee with her husband and kids, I didn’t know any other surgeon to contact, so I called my old surgeon’s office in Tennessee, and she recommended him. I had learned a bit about the partitioning of India, and the horrific attacks by Moslems that took place in various parts of the country. I asked the nurse who worked in his office if she knew what part of India he was from, and she said she believed it was Kashmir, but that he never really talked about it. He must have been in the U.S. for many years by the time I met him. He retired about a year after my surgery.
I have to disargree with Trump on this one. Go to You TUbe and look up a site called “Asian Boss’’ and get an earful of what Indians think of us. It’s infuriating.
They call America a racist country but they want to come here for better life.
Indians absolutely hate and despise Americans. They are absolutely the most racist people on the planet.
But God Almighty do they all want to come here.
there are many older people who remember Nixon sending the Enterprise battle group to threaten India in 1971.So you will always have people who disparage America. And then you have the people in states like Gujarat who, hypothetically, would vote on joining the US if given a chance, without having to think about it.
you can get whatever you want to see or present. Some of the colleges too are full of brainwashed leftists. But they are a small minority. More Indians are pro-America than not. By a large margin.
My only experience with Indian is SIL’s husband.
He’s a flaming Democrat.
I think they think it’s chic to be democrat, and it seems they are very status-conscious.
Nagaland is the state with the highest percentage of Baptists in the world. (Higher than Mississippi, the U.S. state with the highest percentage of Baptists)
I’ve seen Indians from different regions (mostly North and South) hate on each other, more than people from the U.S.
<P.Oh, and an Indian colleague invited a Pakistani (but mostly westernized) colleague over, and then let her husband’s friend be completely rude to her, until she left in tears, and then call her names.
<P.Of course, plenty of people from the U.S. are rude, too.
If such good friends, then ask them all to go home to India and leave us alone, give our American jobs back to Americans.
I have worked over the years with many and I can tell you they are kind, generous, intelligent and spiritual people and have a love for this country.
Trummp has been hit for things he has or has not said.
What they need to observe is Trump talks... he likes to talk... and he uses words from his days building and walking with the builders. He uses worde from habit... he uses words/adjectives and has not looked in the dictionary as to what the meaning actually is... lot of people do that... he expresses in big terms.. he will say a person is great, not thinking if he is... Trump is a positive person... and he talks in that fashinn.
if all would get to know our President, there wojuld be less accusations and media getting carried wway.
When he talks... just temember he flowers everythng... he positives everything... he flourishes...
God bless President Trump!
“They call America a racist country ....”
But they have a caste system.
Go to the web site I mentioned. It was eye opening to me. I thought Indians were nice at one time. Not anymore.
Go to the web site I mentioned. Get an earful.
As I said, it depends. go to the ultra-leftist univs or the univs run by the peacefuls or to the 2 commie states, they don't like America. The rest do.
And I didn't go to the website. I live in India :)
