Joe Biden: Why in Gods name dont we teach history in history classes. A black man invented the light bulb not a white guy named Edison, Okay?
(Excerpt) Read more at thegatewaypundit.com ...
He would have gotten credit, but he couldnt figure out how to get an ID so he couldnt prove he was who he claimed to be
But he did discover America.
I heard Henry Louis Gates on TV once talking about the black man as if he was the leader of the expedition (and greatly exaggerating how much of North America they explored).
It's only because of Cabeza de Vaca's account that we know anything about the expedition.
This goes along with a Russian invented everything, as espoused by the Soviet Union.
Biden isn’t trying to re-write history. He’s trying to un-white history. The idea that a black person, and not Edison, invented the light bulb, is part of the Afro-centric theory of history. In this alternative history, the ancient Egyptians were black; Abraham, Moses and Jesus were black; black people created great civilizations that Rome stole from; black people were the great inventors, discovers, explorers, writers and artists of history. This is mostly (but not completely) racist thinking, deeply conspiratorial, and totally whack. Obama went to an Afro-centric church, that preached this nonsense, and now Biden is spouting it himself.
As to the black person to whom Biden alludes, he is an impressive individual, a self-made man up from slavery. He holds six patents (as compared to 1,093 for Edison). Edison hired him for his skill in drafting and as an expert witness in patent infringement cases. In recognition of his many accomplishments, he was inducted into the inventors hall of fame. There is no reason to put Edison down in order to push black people up. Well, unless you are not sure of yourself. Then, you have to make crazy boasts and think that, because you have the same skin color as somebody else who accomplished something, he have a claim to greatness. What we, as American, can be proud of is this: unleashing the potential in the masses of people, not just the elite few, by making real the founding principle of our country, that all men are created equal.
Outstanding!
Notice, it’s always Egypt. No where else on the continent do they look to.
The Edison Electric Light Company in New York City hired Latimer in 1884, as a draftsman and an expert witness in patent litigation on electric lights.
A better background on the light bulbs progress is here:
https://www.livescience.com/43424-who-invented-the-light-bulb.html
Edison made the first commercially viable light bulb some years before Latimer was on the scene.
Latimer received a patent on January 17, 1882 for the “Process of Manufacturing Carbons”
Same as 2 + 2 .= 5
I asked him where the other half of the world was. He shrugged it off as he didn't have the other picture.
I didn't think anything about it then, but looking back I see the situation.
...that would not have gone over well....why are virtually ALL light bulbs, with the exception of certain specialty bulbs, WHITE...??!! this is outrageous....another example of white supremacy...!! Karl Rove has his “whiteboards,” the people who live in northern climes often suffer “whiteouts” during winter storms...we still tolerate the expression “as pure as the driven [white....!!] snow..” and on and on...!! shameful .....
You apparently haven’t heard of the fact that every African country was ablaze in incandescent light CENTURIES before Whitey stole it. But yes, I am well aware that Mooohammed Colmambo actually discovered the land that our ancestors raped and pillaged.
Now THAT is a tragic story. Whitey denied the poor soul an ID.
BTW, yours was the post of the day! Thanks for the laugh.
Yeah, and that white snow to harass black folks in winter; then there’s white sugar and bread and forcing black babies to wear white diapers. The list goes exhaustibly on and on ....
The sad thing is that, even with supposed woke people running our schools, and a focus on highlighting minority acheivements, most kids have no idea who Lewis Howard Latimer is.
And I don’t think Biden does either, he just called him “Some Black Man”.
The light bulb
Latimer received a patent on January 17, 1882 for the “Process of Manufacturing Carbons”, an improved method for the production of lightbulb carbon filaments.[8][9]
The Edison Electric Light Company in New York City hired Latimer in 1884, as a draftsman and an expert witness in patent litigation on electric lights. While at Edison, Latimer wrote the first book on electric lighting, Incandescent Electric Lighting (1890)[10] and supervised the installation of public electric lights throughout New York, Philadelphia, Montreal, and London.[11] When that company was combined in 1892 with the Thomson-Houston Electric Company to form General Electric, he continued to work in the legal department. In 1911, he became a patent consultant to law firms.[12] Now, a "patent draftsman" - employed BY the company that is developing and having to invent the entire light bulb system (wires, glass, seals, fuses, switches, vacuum and sockets, generators and connections) only becomes "the inventor of the light bulb" in a black studies classroom dominated by a black studies mystic (er, mistake). Inventing ( getting a patent for a single new type of carbon filament ) is good thing - and I congratulate him for it. But Latimer did NOT "invent the light bulb." He DID invent a better make to make one small part of a competing light bulb filament. And, in the long, run, they did not even use carbon filaments in the final product!
