TOKYO -- The decision to fire four ballistic missiles into the South China Sea on Aug. 26 was surely signed off on by the Central Military Commission, the Chinese military's top decision-making body.
That committee is chaired by Xi Jinping, the country's president and Chinese Communist Party's general secretary.
The missiles fired by the People's Liberation Army included those feared by the international community as "aircraft carrier killers," capable of sinking the U.S.'s greatest warships, and the "Guam killer," capable of reaching American military bases in the North Pacific.
The firings have escalated tensions. They have also ushered the China-U.S. confrontation into more dangerous territory, with the real possibility of accidental clashes.
One Asian intellectual familiar with Chinese politics noted that the missile launches came on the same day as another major political event.
"I feel uneasy," the intellectual said. "It may give us a clue of what lies ahead in Chinese politics."

In a pompous ceremony, Xi handed to the police force a newly designed red and blue flag.
The red portion, occupying the top half of the flag, symbolizes the party and is meant to portray the police's absolute loyalty to the party, it was explained.
It was a highly symbolic move.
Most Chinese public security and police organizations have long been affiliated with the State Council, which is synonymous with the government. The party's Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission exercises oversight.

Never do this with germans on the border.
President Xi is feeling his age and a sense of impatience to realize his dreams before he dies. It is a common affliction among dictators.
Ironically, he is going to force an alliance in Asia against China and militarize Japan who will likely go nuclear if they have not already in response.
Ask yourself why has China dropped the mask in 2020? The Wuhan flu was deliberately unleashed, party officials make threats to everyone, they rattle the sabers, encroach on neighbors territorial waters, test missiles, start drama on the border with India, expand their nuclear inventory, and threaten to cut off medical supplies and PPE from other nations.
Makes you wonder what is really going on inside China doesn’t it?
Pei-Ping...
Xi is feeling his age and sense of impatience to realize his dream of being mayor of Portland before he dies.
Can China take out our surface craft with conventional weapons? Probably. Can we take out theirs with conventional weapons? Yes we can.
But the real equation is if you take out one of our Air Craft Carriers with 4000 men on it what happens? Just one Boomer sub will render China a smoking nuclear ruin. We have many Boomers. Can China hurt us with ICBMs? Yes they can. They can not take us out. We can take them out with absolute certainty.
That is the force equation today. As China gets stronger the equation can change.
Nancy,DiFi and
Hunter are being called
Up to serve
Their Master Xi.
“...Ironically, he is going to force an alliance in Asia against China...”
I would wager strongly that this is already in the works and Xi really just put the final tweaks on any last minute hold-outs. A strong conventional and nuke alliance against CC in the Asia Pacific is a virtual checkmate. Xi is his own worst enemy....
For dictators, frustrated and failed plans raise provocative issues and stir suspicions. Chairman Xi sees the glorious future that his regime confidently projected for the PRC quickly becoming less and less plausible. For lack of any better approach, Xi must now apply force and intimidation and hope for better results. Even for dictators though, the future cannot be so easily and predictably bent to one’s will. As China’s economic problems mount, the odds lengthen against Xi dying in bed while still in power.
China is Asshoe.
China, in partnership with the us democrat socialist politicians, conspired to use wuhan to attempt to sway the election to a leader more favorable to both china and democrat socialist goals for america
fauxci is the bridge/conduit, soros bankrolls(ed) much of it
Got a crusty butt?
You need Asshoe.
they may think they can survive it out due to population numbers
i wouldn’t make that bet
3gd goes and a few hundred million may be gone within a day
Dictators try to expand their borders when they are running low on resources in the territory they have. That’s why Hitler moved into Poland.
That’s how I’m reading it.
Hey Xi - you blew it! Xi isn’t long for China. Here comes the hook. Worse leader since Mao
clever
As China gets stronger the equation can change.
If China takes out a carrier with Trump president, they are in trouble.
A President Biden will capitulate.
China will do whatever they can to shift the election to Biden.
China, pandemic, DNC rats, soros, antifa, BLM all in it to win it
