Across Pennsylvania especially in rural communities tens of thousands of yard signs supporting Joe Biden have popped up as his fans try to replicate how President Trump showed his growing support in the state when he was campaigning in 2016. And, just as quickly, some of those signs have been vanishing.
It usually happens in the dark of night, local Democrats say, but sometimes in daylight. Sometimes entire streets or neighborhoods are cleared. Pro-Biden Facebook groups have devoted long threads to strategies for deterring sign snatchers one suggestion involves clear hair gel and pesky glitter, another electrifying the metal frame with a car battery.
While sign thefts are a problem every election year for candidates of both parties and are an ongoing source of headaches for campaign staffers and party officials some Democrats in Pennsylvania and several other states insist its worse for them this year and illustrates the emotional intensity of the coming election. While there are examples of Trump signs also disappearing, there hasnt been the same level of public outcry.
Campaign staffers frequently roll their eyes at the utility of campaign signs, preferring to spend their time and money on higher-tech sales pitches. But as the Trump campaign proved in 2016, signs can create a momentum for a candidate all on their own, persuading people that siding with a candidate, even a controversial one, is safe.

I pass the same 4 Biden signs every morning on the way to work. Meanwhile, Trump signs and flags are popping up everywhere.
Instead of Trump signs they should post “Silent” signs. Id like that to become the new singal like Christians wearing fish symbols.
No doubt there are still many Biden supporters but after his selection of the ineligible lets keep rioting some more Kamala , many D voters have switched or are just dropping out of the election. We drive through a strongly D area and there isnt a single Biden sign anywhere in sight. Not a one
My Trump 2020 flag lasted 30 days.
I live in a conservative county so I will leave the shredded remains for my neighbors to see before I put a new one up.
Worth the $6.78 to make someone pissed enough to climb the pole. I’ll put some axle grease on it and try to catch them on my trail camera this time.
During the Bush-Gore race my Bush Cheney signs were stolen so many times I eventually got on a ladder and nailed one high up on a tree, where it remained until the election was finally resolved (and several weeks thereafter). Then there was the time my car was keyed in an affluent NJ town for displaying a Romney Ryan bumper sticker. If I decide to put out a Trump sign this year (I may opt for Jobs Not Mobs instead), Ill consider taping razor blades to it and/or rubbing it down with lots of poison ivy.
We have two idiots in our neighborhood with “Biteme” signs and nobody bothers them even though this is a neighborhood where Trump won by better than a 2-1 margin and his signs are everywhere else.
AstroTurf...
Good grief. The perfect excuse for why there are a lack of Biden signs compared to Trump signs. People are stealing them.
“Tens of thousands”......snort.....
Mix ghost pepper juice into the axle grease for real fun and games.
Whenever I want a good laugh I replay the video of the guy who tried to steal the electrified Trump sign.
Maybe I just don’t understand, but, maybe Biden folks only put up their signs in the basement.
Let me guess, they shouted MAGA Country too right.
LOL!
That was my first thought!
The homeowners removing them!
I live in a rural county and there are a huge number of Trump signs. And I haven’t seen any Biden signs. Not one.
yeah, if you drive by my house and put up a Biden sign, I’m taking it down.
Exactly my thought when I read the article. Even here in legendarily leftist Minnesota, once you get out of the Twin Sh*tties, the ratio of Trump to Biden signs is easily 30 to 1. And that’s a conservative estimate (no pun intended).
Because democrats cry, and cry, and cry.
