A scary situation for a Fresno Police officer was caught on camera after a suspect on the run fired several shots at his police car.
The department has identified the officer as Sgt. Ezequiel Suarez, a veteran officer with Fresno police.
Suarez was responding to a call of a man who ran into the road along Cedar near Shields and fired a round in the direction of a driver nearby.
Police say that same suspect decided to fire several more rounds, this time at one of their officers.
The officer's body-worn camera footage shows the moment the rounds hit the car.
Police say about eight rounds were fired, striking the officer's car twice a week ago in central Fresno.
Another camera caught footage of a man who police say is the suspect, and that he appears to be waiting as the officer's car drives by to start shooting.
Police say the bullets shattered some glass, some of it blasting into the officer's face and neck.
Chief Andy Hall says they're seeing more shootings similar to this one and blame it on the zero-dollar bail policy in place in Fresno County.
"We're lucky we don't have an injured or killed officer as a result of this," says Chief Hall. "If we wouldn't have caught this subject with a firearm, he would've been released back into the street, so the zero bail absolutely has an effect that we're seeing on the street."

I know what you mean. I’m getting ready to retire, and now have to deal with all of this cr@p. Someone was randomly shooting into houses a mile or two from us. A friend’s neighbor had a round go into his bedroom, but fortunately missed his family. This in a relatively upper middle-class area. Haven’t heard of any suspect ID yet, but it’s undoubtedly either a BLM or Antifa goon, whacked out of his mind on false victimhood.
Maybe call a social worker next time, let them see what reality outside the college campus is like.

They are not being allowed to protect life, safety and property although I'm sure some would if they could.
Their presence is obviously not preventing crime.
In fact, violent crime is skyrocketing.
They don't prevent murders and the clearance rate in many big dem cities is below 10% so the investigations are worthless.
And even if they catch the killer there may be no punishment.

Forget about lesser crimes like rape, assault, burglary, car theft, theft.

It appears that the only thing that they are doing is preventing law abiding citizens from protecting our property and prosecuting people who defend their own lives.
That attidute is something I think Democrats have not considered. If or when the rule of law dissolves, the only thing holding back street justice is the individual's morality. Democrats have no morals, Christians do so we're at a definite disadvantage but when it comes to life vs death, what then?
The left needs to be destroyed or they will be our horror show future. I think many assume this will blow over or are in denial about the reality. The next steps are more political and societal control and the SPREAD of their operations (SUBURBIA).
The "they" you refer to upthread - that should among other things be held responsible - include those county officials behind the anti-law and order, zero-bail policy.

That’s tragic. We’ve had our car in the driveway thieved three times since January( quiet and rural except homeless camps now). One shooting, one suicide and the post office broken in to twice.
I’ve no idea where to move if we must but this is not fun.
Yep...It wasn’t bad enough the Communist Chinese imported their concocted cootie onto our shores, canceling everything including our economy, so the Democrats and their anarchist constituents decided to riot, loot and commit arson from coast to coast. It’s like getting a case of gout with them coming along and rubbing poison ivy all over you.
It’s hard for me to believe people with even a tablespoon of brain matter would vote for these nasty stooges.
