The father of the man killed inside Seattle’s CHAZ/CHOP zone has sued the City of Seattle, King County, and the State of Washington for $3 billion. In the suit, the father’s attorneys claim that actions and inactions by local government authorities led to a hazardous and lawless situation that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Horace Lorenzo Anderson, who went by Lorenzo.
According to KING 5 News, attorneys for Lorenzo’s father, Horace Anderson, released a statement:
“It is important to hold our government leaders accountable so this will not happen again,” said Attorney Evan Oshan in a prepared statement. “Those in positions of power must not be allowed to hide from their duty to act responsibly and protect citizens. With power and prestige comes responsibility!”
The thing that we really need to focus on is that there was a, an individual who lost his life unnecessarily and he, it was predictable, it was preventable, and this should have never happened, Oshan said.
Oshan said that he and his client hopes that the discovery process will also uncover who was to blame.
“I do know is that there was a police precinct that was given up. What I do know is that EMS did not come in and take care of Lorenzo as he lay bleeding. This was a totally lawless situation. It puts him in great danger and it was just wrong, Oshan said.
This brings to mind Nick Sandmann’s lawsuits against the Washington Post, CNN, and others over misrepresentations of him while reporting on the March for Life. Once the trials were approved to proceed and discovery began, the media outlets were quick to settle.
Discovery may be more important than a settlement in this case, as the attorney notes,

It begins.
Good!
And they say Socialism have never really been tried.
Sure it has, CHOP and CHAZ.
You saw the results quickly.
Does the city or state have a legal duty to the plaintiff as an individual?
I can only address this claim in light of California wrongful death law: there are sovereign immunity problems but I suspect it might be possible to get around them in this case. All dad gets in the wrongful death case is the value of the love, society, and support of his deceased son. No pain and suffering. No punitive damages against governmental agencies. Though this kid made a big mistake, it seems like he was a nice kid with some promise. The case has jury appeal. Id value it at $5-15 million at trial IF they can get past the sovereign immunity. Again particular Washington law
might suggest a different analysis
He’s suing because he wants to uncover the politicians involved in protecting and helping the anarchists. He’s not really out for the money. The money is more of a political statement than anything else
I don’t think the city, and especially not the state, will acknowledge any culpability.
See my last post. Thats why I was vague on the sovereign immunity. In California, the police have no duty to act, that is, no liability for failing to protect, but if they do they cant do so negligently. So it depends
Whoever that is with the dad I’ll bet it’s is his bestest friend in the whole world!!
Looks like they are going to Chop Seattle down to size.
Oh no!
If he wins, theyll have to lay off their arborists and gender checkers!
Then, whos going to give their cousins and Aunts do nothing jobs?
Do they know who killed Lorenzo?
“””has sued the City of Seattle, King County, and the State of Washington for $3 billion.”””””
Setting the amount is all just show and is meaningless. The jury decides on the number. IF he wins they might award him 20 bucks or 20 million.
This is exactly what needs to happen with every one of these liberal s**tholes by victims of protest violence physical, mental, business, and property.
Watch how fast these get shutdown as the lawsuits pile up.
Courts are worth a symbolic try, as they will enrage people when the judges rule against the innocent citizens.
If the justice system really worked then Comey and Hillary and many more would have been in prison.
Of course they are not in prison and of course that system does not work. Does not work.
Do we really think the Swamp will allow evil Dem governors, mayors and police chiefs to be subject to fulfilling their legally required duties or else pay off in money? As store owners and business franchise owners who lost everything in looting and fires while they pleaded with mayors and police to stop standing down? Will only hasten the coming pushback violence against the leftists. But that is the choice of the Left, not us.
I don’t know if he wins but Seattle lawyer bill just went up
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but this is precisely the purpose of the 2nd Amendment. It's not just to protect ourselves from a totalitarian government (which, is evidence, the citizenry must have the same weapons as the police), but also to protect ourselves and our cities when govt hides behind its constituents.
Instead of doing the jobs they were elected to do, the demonrats abandoned their duty while sheltering in place.
And their citizens suffered and some died as a result of their political stupidity.
I hope he has standing to sue them and lawyers who are good enough to make it hurt and make them examples of pain and suffering for their politically motivated failures.
Excellent! The shop owners need to sue the mayor and everyone on the city council.
The same needs to happen in Oregon.
