With the hope of preventing another virus surge, California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced a new process Friday for reopening businesses that's more gradual than the first attempt that eventually led him to close many businesses soon after they reopened.
Simple, also slow," is how the Democratic governor described the new rules, which take effect Monday.
The four-tiered, color-coded system ranks counties based on the number of virus cases and infection rates.
We dont put a green (tier) because we dont believe that theres a green light that says go back to the way things were or back to a pre-pandemic mindset, Newsom said.

Business groups weren't cheering the new guidelines. The California Restaurant Association said the fact that restaurants won't be able to serve more than 50% of their total capacity in any tier will force already suffering businesses to close for good.
Restaurants cannot sustain themselves or their employees when they operate with strict capacity limits, which means the state should long ago have crafted a comprehensive aid package to help these small businesses hibernate, said Jot Condie, chief executive officer of the association.
The beauty industry slammed the guidelines as well, particularly because nail salons can't immediately reopen indoors.
The guidelines came with an acknowledgement from Newsom that a return to normal isn't on the table until a vaccine is available or the virus is otherwise drastically curbed. The least restrictive tier yellow only allows churches, restaurants, gyms and movie theaters to open at 50% capacity.
It all ends completely if ( G-d forbid) Biden wins. With a Trump victory, the shutdowns will get lost in CW2.
Any word on gyms opening?
Will this make Calif. go Trump?
Did Tommie the Commie give his crayons to Nuisance?
We made a big mistake in this country tolerating these amoral little dictators creating bureaucraciesthat assume power that the constitution never granted.
Now we must fix this by running these morally deficient little people out of office.
That’s as likly to happen as me riding a unicycle while juggling flaming chainsaws.
This has been one of the worst days of my life. Today was learned that both my teens wont be returning to school...ever. And one is a private school. I may have to finally move from my tyrannical state at least until they graduate.
Anyone know which states/cities will likely allow in person school for private Christian high schools this fall?
Won’t get to phase IV until June 2021
Can you believe that Shit?
Churches can open but, only at 50% capacity? Trying to kill churches?
Gyms must only operate outdoors in the purple tier but can begin to allow indoor activity albeit at just 10% capacity.
Eff it. Cancelling my membership tomorrow and if they want to go to court or send me to collections I’ll sign onto the class action.
Bars are closed. Even the bar at the restaurant.
Nail Salons are deKcuF. Bye bye
They will still not open other retail.
Drove by the BIGGEST mall in San Francisco Bay Area today, Valley Fair. The only stores that were open have doors that open to the outside.
The other 200 stores, restaurants and Mega Movie Theater remain closed.
However, right across the street is Santana Row Shopping. Every Restaurant is open due closing the street, which is private and moving seating for restaurants onto the sidewalks and in the street.
How will that work in December-March when it gets and rains sometimes for 20-30 days in a row?
Every store is open and I don’t shop at any of them but, they are open.
I shop and eat the mall that is closed.
So Cartier, Mont Blanc, Tiffany’s, Bloomingdale, Boss, Balenciaga, Coach, Armani, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vitton, Prada, Oliver Peoples, Ferragamo, Tory Burch, Versace, Abercrombie, Champs, Cole Haan, Johnston Murphy, Johnny Was, Masaki Matsuka, Williams Sonoma - - -ALL OF THEM ARE CLOSED AND WILL LIKELY BE CLOSED FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!@!!!
10% Capacity
Wish I could help
try Idaho, Utah, Oklahoma, Texas
You underestimate the power of the stupid in California. Trust me, I live here. Have you ever seen a movie called Idiocracy? Californians consider it a documentary.
South Dakota seems to be the least restrictive state.
I finally did view that movie online in the last year.
It explains a lot about the current state of the US.
Totally Sick really.
We dont put a green (tier) because we dont believe that theres a green light that says go back to the way things were or back to a pre-pandemic mindset,
He's saying that this ABnormal is in fact the "new normal" and that life will NEVER go back to how it was on March 1.
That’s why I posted it.
By impeding the effective treatment and broadcasting 24/7 panic, these local politicians are deliberately destroying peoples lives ( both economically and in the mortality sense). The Democrat Nazi Communist party bosses thought Destroying pdjts Strong economic recovery ( from the Obama-Biden long recession) would cause people to vote against trump. But most people arent that stupid. They realize theyre out of jobs because the D governors and mayors are screwing them, not Trump.
The last one out,
Please turn out
The lights.
Just as Kalifornia performs ‘Ballot Harvesting’ to obtain their preferred election result, they will perform ‘Covid Result Harvesting’ (Deaths & Infections) to keep businesses, people, everything tamped down, until everyone has their ‘mind right’, that all of this could have been avoided if only the ‘right people’ had been allowed to count the Nationwide Votes. All the ‘unharvested’ votes that could have gone for Billary were wasted because the ‘wrong people’ counted the votes. No one will challenge the Kalifornia Covid stats in fear of the Marxists coming to their abode.
Can I ask how you came to June 2021? My math, which is likely wrong, looks like late January. My wife is a California native and Im an import. Trying to get a clear understanding of what this means to think about options. Ive pretty much had it with this place and my work is now remote. Thanks...
