TheBlaze founder and 2020 Radio Hall of Fame inductee Glenn Beck issued a public apology to President Donald Trump for doubting him in 2016.
In a series of tweets, the talk-show host wrote, "I am feeling so humbled this week. I feel truly horrible for the things I said and believed in 2016 about @realDonaldTrump. I believed the worst politically, which he proved me wrong at almost every turn. In the most dramatic cases (life/Israel/China/authoritarian)."
Beck pointed out that the president deserves to be praised for his handling of the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to researchers at Johns Hopkins University, the virus has infected at least 5,889,652 Americans at the time of this writing, and has caused 181,186 deaths.
"I expected @realDonaldTrump to take control federally at the first opportunity. Here we are in a massive crisis. Bush 'violated the free market to save the free market.' Trump could have violated federalism to 'save federalism' yet he has stood firm through COVID."

"But let me cut to the chase," he continued. "I believed he actually didn't care about people. When @realDonaldTrump called me after my fathers [sic] death, I assigned the motive to politics AND SAID SO. What haunts me this week is how my words must have hit his children."
Beck, who spoke with Donald Trump Jr. last week, said that he felt compelled to issue an apology to the president's son for his stance in 2016.

Mark Levin’s apology just came sooner I guess.
And yes he has a long way to go to work off the NeverTrumper debt he accumulated...just like little Timmy still has to pay for his neighbor's window that he broke with a baseball even after he asks for forgiveness.
But if you didn't not want to accept that he's offered up a right apology that's your theological call.
I researched Trump before he came down the escalator.. I found he was, yes a rich playboy of a sort, I also found he helped anyone he knew who needed something.. used one of his airplanes to fly someone to a hospital.. or to a special event.. people he didnt know but helped.. he showed a caring in many ways..
and he got things done before deadlines and under budget..
these things spoke to me..as someone we needed.
i dont care what he was before.. girls/women go after a rich man .. it happens..
i just know this country is blessed to have Trump.. i was for him since day 1.. he has proven himself to those who were against a man not of Washington habits.. i hope they give him support in his next 4 years... and i hope he is bold in the next 4 years.
“Cheetos-face is dead to me.”
Yes. Beck is the real “orange man bad” guy.
Well, if hes supporting Trump now, Ill take it.
Whether hes to be trusted from here on out is another issue. If he supports the President and can convince others to, it works for me.
Brad Thor lost me after this interview...loved his books but I noticed the books after this point were all concentrating on Russia and it was written kind of to copy what was going on ...truly turned me off because it was quite blatant in his writing.
agree completely...his past interviews from a long time ago were always the same. It caused me to trust him because I realized he was acting based on his true long held beliefs and not for political votes.
send him a case of teddy bears.
I'm sure he's sick of me pinging him on this matter or thinks I'm a stalker, but THE grand prize for best comment about the 2016 Trump win goes to SamAdams76, who said "I went to bed on November 8th feeling like I had terminal cancer, and woke up November 9th feeling like I was in full remission." That's perfect.
I'm somewhat sympathetic to Beck in part because there was a LOT of trepidation in 2016, not just about who'd win but if Trump would be the real deal. I worked in NYC for decades and he wasn't a well-regarded "conservative" - on the street he was considered a Rudy RINO since he was pro abortion, pro gun control (even though he had a NYC carry permit), etc. Even early in the campaign in 2015 I thought he was playing to the base. He surged in the polls in July 2015 (as best as I can pinpoint it, the surge started with Trump's July 11 2015 speech at FreedomFest in Las Vegas) and it looked like he was the man to beat...
Even now, looking back, his rise is pretty incredible. Then I saw his de facto Untouchables baseball bat routine on the competition and thought maybe this is what we need.
But we saw this before with Howard Dean/Old Yeller. But Trump kept winning. He said the right things. And we got the win.
Then we got the real deal. And yes, the guy didn't do everything he promised and he got a few things wrong. But he didn't revert to RINO Donald. And look at that graph above....can we honestly say that ANY of the other candidates would have done a better job with all the crap we've had over the past 4 years?
Beck may have mental issues and I think maybe Levin melted down a little too. And yes, it'd have been preferred that he didn't spend any time after Nov 8, 2016 bashing Trump. But here we are now...I want a full remission feeling on Nov 4, 2020 and we need all the help we can get. If he's sincere then welcome to Deplorablism 2020, Glenn.
As for Glenn Beck, glad to see some "never Trumpers" come around. Ted Cruz is another example of one who has come around. I do still have contempt for many of them though because their "never Trump" attitudes were self-serving. They figured Trump would not be around for very long or would be a failure as a president, so they hedged their bets accordingly, keeping their viability for when Trump moved off the stage.
Well that backfired on them. Not only has Trump been an incredibly effective president but he has completely remade the party, leaving this miserable bunch on the outside looking in. The RNC was a thing of beauty. More speakers than ever before by nary a Bush, Romney, McCain, Kasich, or Flake in sight.
The Never Trumper wing of the GOP is effectively dead. And they aren't coming back. Not even in 2024. Mark my words, the 2024 nominee will be a representative of the NEW pro-American Republican Party. The one that Trump built.
I would like to see the same apology from Levin and others.
I used to drive to the Vince Lombardi Park & Ride...I bet that bus ride that morning was filled with utterly stunned losers, people with smeared mascara who saw their chance at building reeducation camps delayed. Can you even fathom how she’d have handled this pandemic? Open borders, forced quarantine and vaxxing, nationalized banks and other industries...we dodge a bomb.
You just described my exlerience. I supported Cruz in the primaries and had my doubts about Trump, but I voted Trump in the general election and I can see that he was and is the right person at the right time. I pray for him every day, and I truly believe he was meant to be president. God had a hand in his election to the presidency.
Glen Beck wrong about everything? Imagine that!!
Once in awhile Glennie goes back on his meds for a few months.
Im glad to hear it, I guess, but Glenn has a long way to go before regaining the trust he so badly squandered over the past five years.
I know, right? Conservatives are notorious. for shooting inside their own circle.
And then there was the time he went to the Mexico border to pass out teddy bears to the organized incursion of unaccompanied children. All of it organized to spite Trump.
What he is not is a Natural Born Citizen, same as Obama, Rubio, Jindal and now Heels Up Harris.
That was the crack in my support of him for POTUS. I found that out on this Site and that was that. His decision to become a Never Trumper when he finally dropped out of the Race really disappointed me, especially after his RNC Speech.
He obviously saw the error of his ways, especially after that Gun Grabbing Moron Beto made his Texas Senatorial Reelection a competitive Race.
Cruz is still a great Senator and a really smart guy. He changed his stripes when it comes to POTUS Trump so I will give his buddy Beck the benefit of the doubt on this one.
While Mark Levin was far from a Trump Fan way back when, he has also seen the error of his ways and he is a vocal supporter of POTUS Trump.
Has he apologized for his earlier never Trumper remarks (?), I don't recall. I do believe he has admitted that he was wrong about POTUS Trump now that he has witnessed the reality of Promises Made, Promises Kept.
Hopefully there are a lot of Voters out there who also had that realization. We will all find out in about two Months.
I do feel that there are some Freepers who need to cut slack and realize that some of us came onto the Trump Train a few stops down the road...
