I’m not so sure about him. He certainly was a good governor as far as they go but state RINOs don’t seem to hate him, George Ryan praised him at his funeral.
Dwight Green (1941-48) certainly was conservative. Bob Taft wanted the victorious Dewey to make Green his running mate in 1948, Dewey was like “lol no”.
Well, it wasn’t like they were going to bash him at his funeral. Stratton was around a long time, a senior statesman. Long enough that I was able to get a personally requested autographed photo from him back in the ‘90s.
Fun fact about Gov. Dwight Green: he autographed everything in a personalized green colored pen. Well, I thought it was amusing.
Sen. John Bricker should’ve been the 1948 nominee for President, maybe he’d have picked Gov. Green as his running mate.
