Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old suspected of fatally shooting at least two people and injuring another during protests in Kenosha over the shooting of Jacob Blake, has been arrested, according to local media reports.
Rittenhouse, 17, was arrested in Illinois and has been reportedly charged with first-degree intentional homicide.
Law? We live in lawless times.

The DA has no case. This is political. Act accordingly.

It's entirely possible that the shootings were justified via self-defense. That will come out in a trial.
However as you note, he was in possession of a firearm and was under the age of possession in WI. *If* he crossed state lines with a firearm, that comes under federal jurisdiction - and more potential problems.

With that said, I'm not sympathetic for rioters that screech this was an outage when people have been seriously injured and property destroyed and in many cases local law enforcement has done little.

Whether or not he was supposed to be there armed or not is a question for the lawyers to sort out. Perhaps if more of us were actually out on the street helping defend these places from being burnt down and looted, then we wouldn’t have young people out there doing the job and risking their lives and freedom.
Me, I see the kid retreating and still retreating and the asshole who got shot in the head wouldn’t stop his aggression, so he got exactly what he deserved.
The other thing is - where were the members of his fire team?
What was the plan for last night?

You are misconstruing my meaning. I would be thrilled if it turns out this kid is a true patriot. It would give me hope for the future of my children and grandchildren.
I just have a healthy skepticism of conniving marxists and their evil manipulations and the complicit media. Even if this boy has been manipulated by the left, I would not want him to be punished for his actions.
I'm just urging caution and no rash judgments until more facts are known. That's all.

The kid was out there all night and actually helping rioters who got gassed and otherwise “hurt” during their rioting and the actions of the local authorities. There are several videos showing this.

Then it finally happens in real life.
One young MAN ventures out with others to protect others and property, and is forced under lethal attack to shoot his attackers for survival. Oh his age, license? my boy would have been in bed, is he FROM Kenosha? Where we’re his parents? Lol.

I’d completely agree with you that, as a 17 year old, he should not have been there. As to how he handled himself, he did pretty well. He had good fire discipline as he was not firing randomly or without cause. He only engaged those mob members who were in the act of actually physically assaulting him as he was off his feet and on the ground. And before defending himself each time he first tried to retreat but, before each shooting, the mob continued to pursue him until they had him on the ground.
He did rather well and appears to be mature for a 17 year old. But I do hope he gets a good self-defense lawyer and keeps his mouth shut.
Yeah, I dont know what militia entails in this case, but he was in the gaggle. Safety in numbers. The initial reports were that there were armed locals protecting shops/property. Havent heard any detail about whether they were organized or ad-hoc. In some video I saw there were one or two that were constantly pulling others in the group back to keep them from getting into scuffles with the rioters who were harassing them.
