On 4 June 2020, two female police officers, Officer Suarez and her partner, Officer Brown enter a deli in Manhattan. Just behind them came 55-year-old Peyman Bahadoran, walking his dog and holding a drink bottle in his right hand. Officer Suarez held the door to allow the dog, on leash, in the store.

Peyman got into a verbal dispute with officer Brown. Peyman drew a large knife which was in a sheath on his right leg, and started waving it around.
At this point, either officer, in my opinion, would have been legally justified in shooting Peyman, but neither did. Suarez drew her radio and exited the store, calling for backup. Brown ineffectively fired a Taser at Peyman, missing, as she fled behind the counter.
Peyman started interacting with the deli clerk, who is the hero in this story. Peyman waved his knife. The clerk picked up his own knife, and waved it back. Peyman demanded cigarettes, eerily similar to George Floyd.
The clerk, in a brilliant move, extended the pack of cigarettes toward Peyman. Peyman instinctively put the knife down on the counter, preparatory to taking the cigarettes. The clerk snagged the knife with his left hand, while withdrawing the cigarettes with his right.
Peyman was left unarmed. The clerk gave the knife to Officer Brown.
Peyman started holding his hands up for all to see he is unarmed. Suarez re-entered the doorway. She appeared to be able to clearly see Peyman no longer has a knife in his right hand, and a water bottle in his left hand.

Maybe... but the POS clearly brought it on by his own actions.
I would suggest that in the heat of the moment the officer may only have remembered the knife and think that the bottle of water was the knife still in his hand.

Agreed. But just think — if the guy hadn’t acted crazy and waved a knife in public, he most likely wouldn’t have been shot.

Exactly why small women should never be cops. Perfect example right here. Because of their physical limitations they only have three options, flee, succumb or shoot. Social engineering can be fatal. I hope he sues their asses off.
Nope, bad shooting. Cop should be fired and the city sued.
Undoubtedly started over the cop telling him he needed a mask.
He is suing, and will shortly get a very large payout, IMHO.
I don’t know about that as a completely hard and fast rule. I’ve seen some ‘small’ women who resemble angry buff fire hydrants that would do well in the role physically - 180-200lbs, not fat at all. But yes, they’re a definite exception.

Street cops should be young men. Women should not be cops. THIS IS A PRIMARY EXAMPLE. WOMEN COPS ARE A PUBLIC DANGER.
Again, I generally agree with you, but I know some that can easily hang with the young men. (Hint: These are often women who resemble trolls.) Again, they are *rare* but they’re not so rare that they should be barred from the position of they can fulfill all the duties as well as a man.
Also worth noting that no few young male cops have done similar things as these clearly unsuitable females did, too.
I was a LEO in the Army and civilian world for a total of 11 years. While at FT Hood our MPs company high pt score was a woman she did high pt score on the mens scale after she maxed out the female’s. She was 5ft .8” and 180lbs solid muscle at the time I was also 5 8” and 185lbs. She like most MPs was also an avid boxer and MMA person we fought a number of times in the ring at the same weight class I’d put her up against any man and she would beat the tar our of 90% of them. That said we had little bit she was 5 1” the minimum size for an MP and barely 100lbs she was paired with a man who was 6 5” specifically because she was so small.

If I was his lawyer, I would demand a cash settlement... fast, for the very reason you notice.
New York is bankrupt, pushing hard to become the new Detroit, and its only play is to get President Biden/Harris elected so it can hit up the US taxpayers for a multi billion, maybe trillion bailout...

Yes it even happens to men cops which is why we don't want female cops to make the problem worse exponentially. Female cops are a public danger. So are female fire and rescue.
Good job NYPD, too bad the first two officers didn’t act quicker. One more POS off the planet.
