Sanhedrin Petitions to Govt to Blow Shofar on Temple Mount for First Time Since Temple Destruction
Breaking Israel News ^ | 24 Aug 20 | Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz

With trumpets and the blast of the horn raise a shout before Hashem, the King. Psalms 98:6 (The Israel BibleTM)

A petition is currently being considered by Prime Minister which, if accepted, will permit a Jew to blow the shofar on Rosh Hashanna on the Temple Mount. Since the first day of Rosh Hashanna is on the Sabbath, it will be the only place in the entire Jewish world that a shofar will be blown and it will mark the first time since the destruction of the Temple that a Jew will be permitted to perform this powerful act at the holiest site in the world.

The Organization of 70 Nations, headed by Rabbi Hillel Weiss, and the Land of Israel Organization (Mateh L’Maan Eretz Yisrael)headed by Aviad Vosoli, petitioned Prime Minister Netanyahu to permit the blowing of the shofar on the Temple Mount on the holy day of Rosh Hashanna.

“Jews are only permitted to enter the Temple Mount five days a week: Sunday to Thursday. This year, the first day of Rosh Hashanna is on Saturday, the Sabbath. According to Jewish law, it is forbidden to blow the shofar on the Sabbath except for on the Temple Mount. So we submitted a request to permit a group of Jews to do so; to blow the shofar on the Temple Mount on the first day of Rosh Hashana.”

If they succeed, this will be the first time a shofar will be blown on the Temple Mount since the destruction of the Temple 1,950 years ago. In contravention of the law, the Israeli police forbid any non-Islamic symbols, non-Palestinian national symbols, or non-Muslim rituals on the Temple Mount. This policy is an attempt to lessen Arab violence.

Let's look at what jesus told the Sanhedrin - that the Son of Man is here. Why should the high priest see this as a threat?

Was it a threat?

Yes.

In the generation of the Sanhedrin there was one event that sho wed them that Christ WAS their Judge -- the public event that was evidence of the coming of Christ in victory was the destruction of Jerusalem's temple in 70 AD as prophesied by Jesus in the Olivet discource and instigated by the little horn - Nero

Jesus said that Daniel's Son of man would come in judgement during the Sanhedrin's generation. This leaves us only three logical choices

  1. he was lyign -- that's a non-Christian view
  2. he was mistaken about the timing - the rapture view
  3. OR the coming occured before the close of the first century AD

Jesus predicted the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 - For the days shall come upon you, when your enemies will cast up a bank about you and surround you... and they ill not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation - luke 19:42-44

Daniel tells us that the primary result of Christ's victory is that the saints "shall receive the kingdom"

This rings true to the early history of the Church

Remember that as long as the tmeple remained, people saw Christianity as merely a sect within Judaism - and it was just a sect like the Pharisees with whom Christianity competed with.

The letter to the Hebrews addresses that confusion

With the destruction of old jerusalem and the coming of the new Jerusalem - Christianity,

Daniel specifically informs us that only four "kingdoms" are involved in 7:17.

To claim that a fourth kingdom would be reconstituted after a 2000 year "gap" is biblically and historically false - grasping at straws

Jesus clearly told the Sanhedrin that they would see the evidenceo f the coming of the Son of Man as predicted in Daniel 7:13 - yet you deny His words and put it in the future.

Let's read

24 “Seventy [t]weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to [u]finish the transgression, to [v]make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and [w]prophecy and to anoint the most holy place. 25 So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a [x]decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until [y]Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with [z]plaza and moat, even in times of distress. 26 Then after the sixty-two weeks the [aa]Messiah will be cut off and have [ab]nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And [ac]its end will come with a flood; even to the end [ad]there will be war; desolations are determined. 27 And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of [ae]abominations will come one who [af]makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who [ag]makes desolate.”
the 2000 year gap is non-sensical as you put it between teh iron legs and the iron-clay feet in the first vision. And between the horns in the second prophecy. In the third you put it mid-sentence

that is bibilically, scripturally, textually false.

The temple WAS DESTROYED in the lifetime, in the generation to whom Jesus spoke to -- why do you belie his words by asking for another temple to be built and then torn down??

What are the six blessings that Daniel writes about?

"to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy"

The day when Christ was born, eternal righteouness was revealed, the saint of saints namely Christ was anointed, and the vision and prophecy were sealed, and those sins were remitted which are allowed...It was called a prophecy because Christ Himself is the seal of all the prophets, fulfilling as He did all that the prophets had previously declared concerning Him

Hebrew 9:26 and 28

For Christ has appeared once for all at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself
Hebrews makes clear that this happened in the first advent

Further confirmation is seen in Luke's gospel.

In the hometown synagogue of Nazareth, Jesus reads Isaiah 61:1-2 and says "this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing"

==

Daniel's weeks are finished

==###==

King Artaxerxes issued a decree to rebuild the city of Jerusalem in 457 BC (Ezra 7:11 to 26) and this is the starting point for Daniel's seventy weeks of seasons until 32 AD and the crucifixion of the Christ

What about the temple itself? construction began in 444 BC and ended in 10 BC -- 434 years (62 weeks) later

THIS IS WHY THE JEWS IN JESUS DAY WERE OBSSESSED WITH THE MESSIANIC PROPHECIES<

Next, the abomination

During the siege, the Zealots themselves mocked the Law - they installed a high priest who did tis. Ceremonially unclean men lived in the temple.

Josephus record Ananus the high priest as saying "Certainly it had been good for me to die before I had seen the house of God full of so many abominations, or these sacred places that ought not to be trodden on at random, filled with the feet of these blood-shedding villains"

Not long after this the High priest was murdered by the Zealots.

Josephus in War of the Jews VI 5:2 says "the death of ananus was the beginning of the destruction of the city"

The extra 30 days is the additional time it took for hte total conquest of the city.

As josephus wrote "around the altar a pile of corpses was accumulating; down the steps of the sanctuary flowed a stream of blood, and the bodies of the victims killed above went sliding to the bottom"

The Romans set fire to the houses, but they ran everyone through whom they met... and made the whole city run down with blood, to such a degree indeedt that the fire of many of the houses was quenched with men's blood - Josephus war of the Jews VI 8:5

The Temple Mount was originally Ft Antonia a Roman Legion garrison.

Not originally, but once.

Yes (”Petra” means “rock”), but there are enough carved-out dwellings there to hold a few million - a “place God has prepared” for his remnant when the times comes.

Matthew 24:16 and Revelation 12:6, 14 doesn’t specially say “Petra” is the hiding place in the wilderness mountains, but for the reasons mentioned, I believe that’s the place God has prepared.

Stick to the Bible for prophetic truth. The Bible is the unerrant truth given not by man but by the Holy Spirit, as Peter says.

Jim - stick to the Bible for prophetic truth.

Daniel talks about the destruction in 70 AD of Jerusalem.

Jesus talks about the destruction in 70 AD of Jerusalem.

John talks about the destruction in 70 AD of jerusalem.

Don’t believe the fake pre-Trib rapture, but stick to what Jesus, the prophets and the apostle John said. Daniel’s prophecies have been fulfilled

Cronos interpretation: Daniel talks about the destruction in 70 AD of Jerusalem.

Cronos interpretation: Jesus talks about the destruction in 70 AD of Jerusalem.

Cronos interpretation: John talks about the destruction in 70 AD of jerusalem.

Prophecy in the Bible usually has partial fulfillment before the complete fulfillment. The destruction of 70 AD was a partial fulfillment of certain Biblical prophecy. The complete of the fulfillment is yet to be. God often works in stages.

“For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away” 1 Cor 13:9-10.
“first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear” Mark 4:28.
Thirty-fold, Sixty-fold, and and Hundred-fold (Matthew 13:8).

Daniels’ 70th week and Revelation Chapters 6-19 have yet to be fulfilled. Again Daniel 9:26 locates the 70th week in “the end” as does Dan 11:40 and 12:13. OT prophesies of “the end” always refer to the end of the age, what Dan 12: 13 refers to “the end of days”.

70AD was not the end of days. 70AD did not fulfill prophesy that the entire earth is destroyed.

Jesus warned the Jews of 70 AD and it did happen. But in the multi-level depth of God’s word which cannot be plumbed, the ultimate fulfillment of Matthew 24, Revelation Chapter 6-19, and Daniel’s 70th week have yet to be ultimately fulfilled.

These aren’t my interpretations - that’s what Jesus said

Jesus said “in this generation”

So why do you doubt Him?

Jesus said clearly that those listening to Him would see the destruction of the temple - that’s what happened. Why are you calling Him a liar?

Daniels’ prophecy was partially fulfilled with Antiochus Epiphanes and were cmpletely fulfilled with the destruction of the temple in 70 AD

Daniels’ 70th week and Revelation Chapters 6-19 have been fulfilled

This destruction met what Daniel and the book of the Apocalypse of St John described.

70AD was the end of days. — this WAS the end of the age as the scripture says.

There is no prophecy that the ENTIRE earth is destroyed -

Why are you adding to scripture?

Jesus never said the “destruction of 70 AD”. That is YOUR interpretation of what he said.

So according to you, in the destruction of 70AD all inhabitants of the earth were killed (except for Israel’s remnant hiding in the mountains)?

Man, you need to go back to the drawing board.
