As we reported earlier Sunday evening, a Black man, reportedly unarmed, was shot seven times in the back by an officer or officers in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The man, reportedly named Jacob Blake, is either in critical or very serious condition at a local hospital.
Here was the incident caught on video by a neighbor. Blake reportedly had intervened to break up a fight between two women. Officers arrived, and for whatever reason Blake was tasered, then got up and made a move to get in a car, when he was shot.
UPDATE: The man reportedly had a warrant out for his arrest.
Now as darkness has fallen in Wisconsin, angry mobs have taken to the streets of Kenosha, and are openly attacking police.
This officer was hit in the back of the head with a BRICK, and knocked out cold. No report yet on his condition (Graphic video):

Well for the cops sake I hope this guy had a weapon but I have my doubts. Im pretty sure the police would have made a statement that he had a weapon of some sort. Looks like he had a warrant but that could be anything including an unpaid traffic ticket. So far Im not seeing any justification for lethal force.
While defund the police is lunacy to any reasonable person, disarm the police might just gain traction.
Theyd be slaughtered.
Weve come a long way since Dont taze me bro!
The Media will wait for the rioting to take off before they disclose that information.
When do the police just stop responding? Just let the locals kill each other and call the gangs for help rather than 911.
Eggs Actly!

Same situation. Resisting....taser not working....makes it back to car...procures gun (probably stolen).....tries to kill everyone on site. Good shoot IMHO. You NEVER let a detained person return to their car in a hostile/defiant manner.
Not his right hand, in his left hand. Unless you think it is a very long key.
Hard to remember and process rules when higher than a satellite and controlled by your fight or flight brainstem at the moment.
This cop should be charged with MURDER! /S
He should have WAITED until the perp pulled a gun from the car and SHOT the police officer BEFORE shooting the perp. /s
You CAN’T shoot perps IN THE BACK! You have to WAIT until they turn around and shoot you. THEN, you can react. /s
People need to realize that a cop’s number ONE job is not to protect, serve, or prevent crime, it is to GO HOME ALIVE at the end of their shift EACH DAY!
A little “perspective” is needed by the clueless public.
What is it with Black people that they can’t/won’t COMPLY with police officer commands when they KNOW it might end with their DEATH!
NOTICE the “sarc tags”!
Clearly we could not wholesale disarm the police but adopting a hybrid UK style approach might gain support.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we actually do this but I can see the writing on the wall. One way or another something is going to change with our police so we need to start thinking proactively.
It has become very clear to anyone paying attention we have some serious issues with the training and mindset of our police departments. The police are failing in their mission. They are using too much force (lethal) in far too many cases and not enough force in others.
And when their force is deemed excessive, its dealt with within the justice system. The aggrieved class seems to think that theyre entitled to instant street justice, to include reparation payments via looting and arson. The media and leftist governments, State or municipal, do nothing to disabuse them if this notion
This statement is the very reason we have arrived where we are today. Many many people including our police and those who train them ACTUALLY believe this exact statement.
Hand someone a gun and a badge and say your priority is to go home safely every night and they are going to kill people, the wrong people, innocent people. This can't be argued. This mindset is completely incompatible with a civilized society. The fact that so many people think this way can't be explained by anything short of mass hysteria and brain washing.
The courts do not bring dead people back to life. The courts rarely if ever remedy any level of excessive force issue. We recently had a young women here in Texas shot by a cop from outside the home through the kitchen window. She was not a threat and was not committing a crime of any kind. Last update I heard was the officer is facing legal issues and the innocent women, killed in front of a child who she was temporarily caring for is STILL DEAD.
Sounds like crappy training, and maybe an idiot cop. If youre expecting cops to go out at 2AM without sidearms, youre delusional. There is no ideal, one-size-fits-all solution. The justice system doesnt bring back dead cops killed by criminals, either.
No I'm not saying cops should be unarmed but changes are coming one way or another. It's true the justice system does not bring back dead officers but we must face the reality that officers are going to get killed in the line of duty. What we cannot ever accept is innocent people being killed because the officer felt threatened or the suspect was uncooperative.
If the officers life or the life of others are not in immediate peril then lethal force is not justified under any circumstance.
Not following commands, being uncooperative, holding an unidentified object, running away and on and on and on does not meet the criteria for lethal force.
I think you are on track with crappy training. This is where I am on this subject as well. In my opinion it's not exactly crappy training but more along the lines of negligent training. It appears that officers are literally being trained in such a way that it almost guarantees they will end up shooting when they shouldn't. How else do you explain shooting unarmed women through windows, Shooting people when an officer goes in the wrong apartment, people who are clearly fleeing and even in this case where the man was surely disobeying commands and was uncooperative but did not have the officers or others lives in immediate peril.
Unless there is something we are not being told about this shooting it was without a doubt a bad shoot and lethal force was not justified. The suspect was uncooperative and was being detained so at that point the job of the three officers was to affect an arrest using whatever non lethal tools and techniques were available to them but lethal force was not an option.
As soon as he leaned in the car, Id say the cops were green-lighted. Looking at the video, I would think that they would anticipate that was where he was going, and knowing that if he got in they were going to shoot, it became incumbent upon them to see that he did not open the door. They may not have known it was his car, whether another person in the car might be armed.. any number of factors.
No-knock raids, spawned by the War on Drugs, are another problem. Warrants served on the wrong address...whether the cops do it, or a clerk types it incorrectly...all of these things can snowball into tragedy. Shooting a woman through a window is inexplicable, as was the rookie Somali cop shooting the Australian woman in Minneapolis.
