Clearly we could not wholesale disarm the police but adopting a hybrid UK style approach might gain support.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we actually do this but I can see the writing on the wall. One way or another something is going to change with our police so we need to start thinking proactively.
It has become very clear to anyone paying attention we have some serious issues with the training and mindset of our police departments. The police are failing in their mission. They are using too much force (lethal) in far too many cases and not enough force in others.
And when their force is deemed excessive, it’s dealt with within the justice system. The aggrieved class seems to think that they’re entitled to instant street justice, to include reparation payments via looting and arson.
